Why are there so many veggie burgers sold out at the supermarkets?!

Question: Why are there so many veggie burgers sold out at the supermarkets!?
I love the Gardenburger brand- Herb Crusted Cutlet, and my local supermarket gave a lame excuse for why they aren't going to get any more in!. also, Q'uorn products are great, but expensive, Morningstar Farms is ok, and Boca Burgers are a bit too filling!. Gardenburger brand is the best, IN MY OPINION!.
Help, what is a girl to do!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think mainly because more omni's are open to eating veggie burgers these days!. They're not just for veg'ans anymore!. :) People who are trying to cut back on their cholesterol consumption, or watching their weight, or just maybe want a healthier lighter meal will often buy or eat veggie burgers!. also, veg'anism is much more "normal" now!. It's not only veggie burgers, but there are so many more options in every aspect for veg'ans than there were even ten years ago!.

The ones you buy in the store are usually not particularly healthy!. They're over-processed & not as natural as you'd think!. You should try making your own!. They're definitely healthier, and you'd know exactly what's in them!. There are tons of different veggie burger recipes out there!.!.!.for just about any kind of flavor or style you want!. I usually don't use a recipe, but just throw a bunch of stuff together!. You can make a lot at a time and freeze them!. Tupperware has these great stackable bowls that are made specifically for freezing burgers, but you could also just wrap them in plastic wrap (so they don't stick and you can grab a single burger) and put them in large freezer bags!. That way it's just as convenient as buying them pre-packaged!. It's also a LOT cheaper to make your own!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Okay, the truth!? Kelloggs which also owns Morningstar bought Garden Burger which started out as a company in Portland, Oregon but the owner became greedy and moved it to Utah so he could pay employees less!. Bad move as his once loyal fans moved on to more loyal brands and the company went bankrupt!.

Sidenote: I knew a guy who lived next door to the founder; he said there was constant "Greedy Burger" graffiti around the house!.

Then Kellogg had a manufacturing glitch after buying GB which has caused the loss of several weeks production and stores all over the country have had to go without which meant others had to find alternatives!.

For burger alternatives I'd suggest Dr!. Praeger's, Sunshine, Amy's and the Tofurkey brands as those are smaller companies and the quality is great!. Most of those brands have other great products too!. Try Field Roast too!.

I'd stay away from Gardenburger, Boca (Kraft aka Phillip Morris the cigarette co -- also "Back to Nature") and Morningstar when possible as they often are not organic (and if they are they source from China and South America) and if not organic then use factory farmed and GMO ingredients and many of the products are not vegan using eggs and dairy from the most abused of the abused animals!. The less the ingredients cost the more money in the Wall Street pockets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The number of vegetarians out there is rapidly increasing, thus the need to remain competitive with food items!. I'm glad to see there are so many choices and varieties in a once VERY difficult veggie world!. Used to be pretty slim pickings for these folks!.

These healthy meals are not for vegans alone, as we become more and more health conscious - it is common for the meat eater to reach for these items as well!. (Myself included)!. I personally, LOVE the original Gardenburger, and found the "Boca Burgers' rather bland and unappealing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Veggie burgers have to be eaten on occasion, because they can be high in fat and protein!.
Eating vegan is great but most of our diet must be fresh fruit and veg!.

I come from a family of vegans and a lot of study has been done in natural health!.
Eat burgers but please not too many!.

Vegetarians diets are becoming more and more popular!. Are you vegetarian!? I am, only because I love my animals!.

If you asked a meat eater to kill his own meat, would he do it!? Probably not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well the amount of people beeing vesgetrain is increasing !.Thus more product alternitve to meat are sold on the market !.also due to increase of obesity more less fatty food are made !.Www@FoodAQ@Com

probably because there isnt much of a demand so they are wasting money on them!.!.!.!. which is dumb!.

i looovveee morningstar farms they are my ultimate favorite!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ask if the have morning star farms Www@FoodAQ@Com

They were just being polite!. Veggie burgers are perishable slow moving items and it does not make sense for the grocer to stock up on something that doesn't sell very well!. Put ice cream in the same freezer and it will be gone fast!. Put veggie burgers in there and you end up with unsold expired items!.

the number of vegetarians has increased by 1 percent in the 20 years!. That is hardly rapidly increasing when the population has increased by more than 50% in the same period!. People's capacity for self delusion is amazingWww@FoodAQ@Com
