Is PETA helping to raise the vegan population?!

Question: Is PETA helping to raise the vegan population!?
I think that with all PETA's efforts they are not only saving animals lives but also humans via healthy eating, and more young people are becoming vegan!.

What do you guys think!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I'd say yes!. Whatever you think of their methods -

People who care about the abuses PETA points out will cut back on animal products!.

People who are more upset about PETA than factory farms were never going to go veg anyway!.

And people who don't think they care about their health won't change until a wake up call!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I definitely think that Peta is raising awareness because that is what made me change my diet to a Vegetarian now Vegan diet!. But I also think that people who think that the Veg lifestyle is ridiculous, and sadly many do!.!.!. do not take Peta seriously!. For example, my husband is a big meat eater and he hates when I talk about Peta, he says he can't take them seriously because they take everything to the extreme!. But I just think he doesn't want to see the videos and stuff because he likes meat too much!. So selfish my sweet husband :)

But in the end I do think that Peta has changed many lives and saved many lives!Www@FoodAQ@Com

As a vegan, while I admire PETA's overall intentions, their methods are often such as to alienate and irritate some of the very people that they are trying to win over!. While PETA have some good campaigns, others based around intimidation and extremist philosophies do little to endear them to the public!.

I think they should probably look at the ways MLK and Gandhi inspired change, and base their work on those methods instead!. They'd be so much more effective I think, and reach so many more people effectively with the true vegan message of peace and compassion!.

Edit: Steve 500, that web page is so bigoted and discriminatory!. I don't feel threatened by meat eaters: why should you feel so threatened by vegetarians!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

PETA lost all respect for me the moment they 'released' my friends assistance dog!.

Vegans, veggies, I don't care what people eat!.

But hell breaks loose when they remove my friends beloved pet, her ability to walk outside, and her life!.

Lucy loved helping!. She was loved, she enjoyed her job, and she was happy!.

Nazi's, Stunts like that are abhorrent, and nothing to do with animal welfare, everything to do with publicity and money!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

for sure they saved me!. vanessa ferlito inspired me!. I was eating meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner!. mortadella (italian sausage) and lots of mayonnaise and cheese was my favorite!. eating like this would be a train to a heart attack and high cholesterol!. now I eat seeds, nuts, cereals that are low in fat and have low or no cholesterol!. even chocolate is a history too!. its replaced with melons and mango!.

after seeing how healthy I am, I've found out other good things!. meat and dairy industry are very large polluters of air and water!. and it takes so much food to feed the animals!. I rather give crops to the starved and malnourished!. peta is a bit extreme, they dont even support if animal testing would make an hiv/aids cure!.

and I will always miss tuna!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love PETA They are doing so much to help animals and ive been helping them as well Not only with donations but actually being active in their campaigns But they really are trying to raise more awareness as well as convert meat eaters And i think thats great More people should become vegans Theyll be healthier and theyll be saving animals from the cruelty they endure in the farms and processing factories I dont know if youve ever seen some of the investigations that PETA did showing the cruelty in so many top farms But you should check it out if you already havent Itll make you not want to eat meat again Go to PetaTV!.comWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. I am a vegan because of Peta!. I ended up on goveg!.com (from a peta link) and watched the videos "meet the meats", and was horrified!. 30 minutes later, I was a vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Peta over do it!.

Its a persons choice to become vegean/vegetarian!.
PETA basically say "Become vegan or we dont like you"

I am VEGAN, but i dont agree with there theories and methods!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

personally i becoming vegan had nothing to do with the PETA organization!. however anyone spreading the word on how to change the world one person at a time is awesome!!!!!!!!! Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are the Westbourogh Baptist Church of animal lovers!. They turn off more people than they "save"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No way !.!.!. they are using voilence to stop violence!. If you dont like some food !.!.dont eat it!.!.!.!. each to their own!. I hate TV i dont watch it !.!.!.easy!. Plenty of healthy omnivoresWww@FoodAQ@Com

PETAs methods are terrible and have turned me away from giving up meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually I kinda agree with you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No way!. Very few sane people are willing to give up tasty treats like Ben and Jerry's for abominations like soy ice cream!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
