What restaurants/markets sell animal products from "humane" farms?!
Oprah recently did an episode about Conscious Choices when it comes eating animals and animal products!. Her guests included factory farmers, family farmers, and the US Humane Society!. I am a vegan and am trying to encourage my friends to make more compassionate/conscious choices!. Some friends want to continue eating meat, but would like to buy from markets/restaurants/farms who treat their animals better than factory farms!. This is a step in the right direction, and might one day help them transition to veganism!. If you know actual names/websites of restaurants/markets/farms that use more humane practices, please let me know!

Wasn't that a great show!? I was disappointed though that a week later, especially after her puppy mill shows she was doing a big segment on how to cook chicken several ways!.
Well, your best overall bet is going to be local and/or organic as there are standards which include the feed which benefits the environment and the field workers as well as the farmer (if the farmers can make a living they tend to be kinder to all)!.
As for which markets are best that would be farmers markets as those are small operators!. Many farmers markets now have pastured meats, eggs and dairy!. Then co-ops are very good for getting local and well-raised foods!.
However, consulting websites such as Eat Wild, Local Harvest, Sustainable Table, Food Routes, Eat Well, Certified Humane, etc will help find local producers of all types of foods:

There really is no such thing as "humane" meat, eggs, or dairy!. You can only shoot for those products which are produced less cruelly!. Even on the kindest of farms, they're not going to keep hens or female cows around if they aren't producing; this means a trip to the slaughterhouse!. And even the animals raised for meat don't fare much better; do you really think there is a humane way to kill someone!?
However, if someone is going to eat animal products, they should 1) seek out the less cruelly produced foods and 2) eat less of them!.
