Where can I find a chicken and beef flavored vegetarian broth?!
I want to make French Onion Soup for my vegetarian family, but most recipes call for beef broth!. Do you know if there are chicken and beef flavored vegetarian broths sold in stores!? If so, where can I find them and what are the best brands to look for!? Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

As far as chicken flavored!.!.!.I have found one product that I use frequently for chicken noodle soup--it's called "no-chicken broth" from Imagine!.
http://www!.imaginefoods!.com/products/pro!.!.!.
Here's another chicken flavored broth (but I've never had it):
http://www!.westbrae!.com/products/soups/c!.!.!.
I frequently make Ty Ling egg drop soup!. It is vegetarian and is quite tasty!. The broth is wonderful for "chicken and dumplings" and when I'm done making that (using bisquik or something similar) I usually have a pan full of "chicken" gravy to use for mashed potatoes because of the flour thickening the soup!.
For chicken flavoring I also use something called "Bill's Best Chik-nish" seasoning!.
http://www!.truefoodsmarket!.com/product_i!.!.!.
I've never tried it, but I see that Bill's Best also has a beef version!. We do like the chicken version (we'll usually add some to some regular veggie broth instead of straight water!.!.!.)
Here's a recipe I found where you can make your own "beef" broth!.
http://www!.tastebook!.com/recipes/587904-!.!.!.
When I want a beef-flavored broth I just use a DARK vegetarian boullioun--it's kind of salty, but most boullions are!. We got it from a weird little store and I'm not sure that you could find it in a regular store (it's a product that looks like you could only buy it if you were in the commercial kitchen business, i!.e!. restaurant!.!.!.) It's from a company called Custom Food (www!.customfoods!.com)!. You might be able to find something similar in a natural food store (sometimes in the bulk section!.)
You could also google for fake beef broth recipes or vegetarian French onion soup mixes!.
