Honestly, it's been proven that a vegetarian diet, if maintained properly, will supply the body with all needed nutrients and vitamins!. Make sure you eat a variety of different vegetables, nuts, and fruits, because different foods contain different nutrients!. For example, broccoli is a great source of calcium, and nuts and legumes are great sources of protein and iron!.

If you think you're not getting enough of certain vitamins it may benefit you to speak to your family doctor!.

If you do end up needing to take supplements, you can get the vitamin gummy!. I can't remember the brand off hand, but there is a brand that uses a seed instead of an animal product to create it!. This will not only get you the nutrients you need, but it's veggie-friendly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

make sure you eat a lot of complete proteins which are usually a combination of foods together that give you all the types of protein you need!. Beans and rice is an example, grilled cheese sandwich is another!. You can google complete protein combinations!. Its important that you get complete proteins so your body doesn't loose muscle which is extremely unhealthy!. also take a vitamin B complex or to be more specific, Vitamin B12!. Vitamin B12 is found only in animal food and most vegetarians lack this vitamin a lot!. A good friend of mind is vegetarian and actually takes B12 injections!. Go for the B complex vitamin though!. You'll get everything you need and it'll be really easy to find and not too expensive!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

first off its not like you're going to become extremely ill if you have a slightly less protein intake than normal!.!.!. and you're certainly not going to die (unless you're going vegan which I don't know as much about)
anything you need can come from vegetables and eggs/dairy!.!.!.
you'll be fine
EDIT: for all the people saying "why go vegetarian!? 1) its a personal choice some people make, who are you to judge!? and 2) its an extremely healthy lifestyle when done properly (although I'm not sure I'm doing it right XD)Www@FoodAQ@Com

1st jus tell ur mom its ur choice and she should except it!. also u can get a lot of protien from beans!. A good source for vegetarian ideas is PETA and I no most people think its only for animal rights but they r very pro vegetarian and they have a lot of things for vegetarians such as recipes, a lot of information about different foods, and message boards where you can discuss being a vegetarian and how to deal with your parents if they are against it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

K so I am 13 years old and I am a vegetarian!. (long story short!. I felt bad for the animals who were gonna be turned into meat at the county fair!.) I have a friend who went vegetarian!. Her mom isn't!. Her mom was mad that she would have to buy the extra no-face food <- LOL but she understood!. Just explain thats the choice you made!. My dad understood that I was gonna be a vegetarian and he just jokes around with me every now and again (We need to get some meat in you ASAP) Heehee
At Fred Meyers or Trader Joes in the organic section!. They have meatless chicken (SO GOOD) Tofurkey Hot Dogs!. Meatless corn dogs, steak, bacon!. You name it!. And the best part is, you CAN NOT tell the difference! PLUS it has all the protein and vitamins cooked into them! Fortunately I have a mom who IS a vegetarian!. So she supports me 100%!. I have been a vegetarian for 4 months now and I don't even remember what meat tastes like!. Anyway good luck with telling your mom (I'm sure she will understand) And good for you for becoming a vegetarian!

VEGETARIANS RULE!

Talk to your mom about wanting to make the switch and then see your doctor to get on a regime on vitamins and a diet plan that will give you what you need!.

YOu can eat beans, legumes and nuts for protein!. Make sure to get enough iron, probably from vitamins!. Girls lose iron through menstruation so you want to make sure you take pills for it so you don't become anemic!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Beans - Contain lots of Protein

Leafy Vegetables - Contain lots of Iron

Orange Juice - Contains more Calcium then milk as well as B12, and Potassium!. Get the Orange Juice that has added Vitamin C, as well as Vitamin D!.

Other Vitamins you can easily attain by eating healthy foods, fruits, Vegetables, and Wheat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being a vegetarian is hard!. I've been one for a few years now, and I really feel better!. Meat just sickens me to eat it now!.

First, you need protein!. beans, nuts, tofu (or theres tofurky, which is what I eat)
B4!. Its a vitamin that you can't get in anything but meat!. I went a few months without knowing about B4 but when I started it I was instantly less tired and in better moods!. Definitely take it!.

Tell you're mom exactly why you are becoming a vegetarian!. Tell her the reasons that it sickens you, you feel it's morally wrong, you just don't like the taste, whatever it is, let her know!. She should understand!. If she refuses to let you, I say just go on a strike!. Refuse to eat anything with meat, and maybe make your own food!. Take her punishments!. She'll eventually realize your serious, but you have to stick to it!.

Becoming a vegetarian isn't something that you can say you want to do then a month later give it up!. you have to commit!. I love not eating meat, but you have to think if it works with how you live!.

Best of luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

First of all, start taking a multivitamin every day!. Women's One-a-Day is a good one!. As far as things to eat, try tofu, it's full of protein and iron that you need!. also, eat lots of beans, kidney beans are probably the best!. If you go to the grocery store, in the freezer section, there are a whole bunch of things there that are like "fake meat"!. They're soy products and they're meat free and really good!. They're good for you too!. They're in green boxes and the brand name is MorningStar Farms!. You can get everything from soy hamburgers, soy chicken patties and nuggets, soy bacon and sausage, even soy corn dogs!. And they're all really yummy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you need to eat a variety of vegetables, fruit, dairy and beans!. also the greatest challenge is to eat a lot of protein which you would usually get from meat and poultry!. Soy products, nuts, dairy and beans are a food source of protein!. You must take a vitamin supplement or at least an iron supplement because iron found in vegetable and beans is harder to absorb than iron found in red meat!. Good luck!. If you do not do this right you will start to notice your hair falling out and a general weakness!. In that case invest in a good vitamin supplement!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, it must get hard, especially when main sources of essential things comes from eating emat!. But ppl manage to get by!. The biggest concern, I think is protein!. You may need to eat lots of eggs and things!. I also recommend iron tablets!. My dad used to be vegetarian and he was lacking in iron, therefore had low haemoglobin, and it got pretty serious!. But people live healthily by a vegetarian life!. Not me though!.!.!.I need my chicken!

Take multi-vitamins!.!.!.ya never know when u need the extra NRGWww@FoodAQ@Com

People who aren't vegetarians are so ignorant!. They shouldn't even be in here answering questions!. It really bothers meat eaters that people choose to be vegetarians!. Meat has protein so just make sure you get a lot of proteinwhen you stop eating meat!. Good sources are beans, nuts, and seeds!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There's no legitimate reason for it!. And if you disagree, you're wrong!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
