Answers:
I am vegetarian/slacker-vegan because of the way animals are treated!. I feel like its morally schizophrenic to protect animals under the law when they are someone's pet, but not when they're on a farm! Plus, animal products just aren't good for you!.

Read "Skinny *****"!. Its got lots of great information in it, but its presented in easy-read language!.

For breakfast I usually have a cup of coffee with soy creamer w/ hazelnut flavoring syrup (can't tell the difference between that & International Delight -- except about 40 calories/4g of fat!) and an English Muffin with peanut butter (the natural kind w/ no sugar or salt!)!.

For lunch I usually have a salad of baby greens, with veggies, croutons & balsamic dressing (the BEST!)!. Sometimes I'll also have like a veggie burger or something but usually a big salad (maybe with bread or something) is filling!.

My favorite dinner (that I make) is stir-fried vegetables with tofu!. Or sometimes I get this vegan chicken or beef w/ broccoli from the local Whole Foods market!.!.!. Buddha is that stuff good! I've given it to meat-eating friends & they refuse to believe its not meat!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I had known for a long time that there was something wrong with eating meat!. I wasn't really sure what until I graduated high school and actually did the research!. I found out the way animals are routinely treated in slaughterhouses and factory farms, and the massive environmental devastation caused by the meat and dairy industries, AND the incredible inefficiency of meat-based diets in terms of food production!.
In a typical day I eat a bagel with jelly for breakfast with a chocolate soy milk!. I often eat stir fry tofu and veggies for lunch and a veggie burger for dinner!. Chinese food is a current staple in my diet as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I had been considering becoming a vegetarian for a while for health reasons, when the last straw occurred!. In 1997 I started cooking semi-seriously and I had a recipe for red beans and rice I wanted to try!. It was a traditional recipe and called for a ham hock!. At the store the ham hocks were next to the pig feet!. I took one look at those little hoofs, made the red beans and rice without the meat, and have never looked back!.

Lately, my breakfast has been apple juice and a peanut butter and grape sandwich on whole wheat toast!. Lunch today is corn and peas with epazote, lightly salted!. If I'm feeling ambitious, for dinner I'll use some of the black-eyed pea flour I bought the other day and make akaras (bean fritters)!. I'll eat them with rice or in a sandwich depending on how solid they are when they come out of the pan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I decided to become Vegan when I started really noticing what I was eating, thinking about where it came from and finding out what was involved in its production!. For me, the cruelty involved was not worth it!.

Breakfast: Cereal with soya milk
Lunch: Pasta in tomato and basil sauce
Dinner: Nut cutlet/bean burger/veggie sausages with mashed potato and veggies or veggies stir fry with rice!.
Snacks: Fruit, crisps etc etcWww@FoodAQ@Com

No man has the right to procure life sustenance at the expense of another life!. If you are part of a tribe that has no other source of food, then i'll look the other way albeit temporarily!. The requirement to kill in the modern world is sickening!. MEAT EATERS: would you eat the flesh of slain beasts if you had to look the beast in the eye and kill it yourself!? Or is the easy way out having someone to do it for you at the abattoir without your presence!?

Enjoy your meal!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I learned abotu the animal kingdom in 6th grade!. We're animals too so why should we eat other animals when we don't have to!. - went vegetarian at age 12-

now vegan
I eat cereal in the morning with soy milk, lunch maybe a veggie wrap with lettuce, tomato, red pepper, green peppers, onions!.!., or hummus and carrots (or both), pbj on vegan wheat bread!.!. dinner!.!. vegan burger, stir fry, rice, pasta, tomato soup

thats not in one day!. typically its no breakfast, pbj or veggie sandwich, and a vegan burger!. plus some snacks in between!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i decided to become a vegetarian a little over half a year ago
it was honestly the best decision i have ever made
it reallly wasnt that hard of a decision to make
i was doing a speech on animal cruelty and i saw some videos on www!.peta!.com and some other animal rights sites and i couldnt even handle what i was seeing
i basically became vegetarian overnight lol and it was really easy becasue my mom was so supportive

now for the food part
vegetarians atcually can eat so much stufff that "carnivores" do
go to www!.peta!.com or www!.veg!.ca/com not sure whitch one
but they have a whole bunch of recipies and you can make so many good recipies with things such as fake meats and you can use vegatables (espically chickpeas whitch i love) in so many new ways

and example of what i would eat in a day would be what i had today:

pancakes fruit and juice for breakfast
bean tacos and salad for lunch
gnocci (italian pasta yummm ) with a mock "ground beef" sauce

and for snaks you can basically just eat everything you used to but just be sure to start checking lables more often i always do

the most important thing is to not let anyone bring you down !.!.!. i know a lot of my friends were unfortunately not extremely supportive of it but unfortunately some people get jealous and they dont hope for good things for you

just educate yourself and find ways to get all your nessacary nutrition and by the way its possible without meat with many people say it isnt
but thats one of the most important things !.!.!. to educate your self

p!.s : marshmallows and sour cream arent vegetarian lol just thought id inclue that becasue a lot of people arent aware of that and a lot of times items wiht those are advertised as vegetarian !.!. watch out for certian cheeses and once again like i said do research lol it helps to be able to prove a point when you are questioned

its really awsome once you start lol

i guessss i kinda asnwered a lot more than the question was asking but i just am really supportive of vegetarian/vegan -ism and i like people to know more about it :P

hope i helped :)))Www@FoodAQ@Com

I decided to go vegan because I don't think I have the right to murder an animal just so I can eat a snack that will give me heart disease!.

This morning for breakfast I had cereal with soymilk and toast with peanut butter!. For lunch I had a chili dog (vegan) and some grapes with a glass of soymilk!. For dinner I had vegetable and tofu stir-fry with white rice and red wine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I became a vegetarian when i did some research and decided that there is no difference between an animals life and a persons life and its a total bi-product of murder!.

Breakfast: any cereal, toast and if my familys having a fry my mam makes me vegetarian sausages and rashers
Dinner: Today i had Vegetarian pizza but i usually have a linda mcCartney meal or Quorn tvp meat!. (:Www@FoodAQ@Com

I did NOT decide!.My forefathers 2500 years before decided on Religious(Hindu) basis!.

Morning: Vegan Idli or Dosa for breakfast with vegetable(coconut) side dish
Noon:Lacto(yogurt) Vegetarian Rice staple food full meal(about 6 to 8 items)
Night :supper -Indian wheat preparations, vegetables, Yogurt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they wanted something to wine about and to be fake about so they could get attention!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
