Is Pregelatinized Corn Meal Vegetarian?!
Answers:
Yes!.
Pregelatinized corn meal, is made from "pregelatinized corn flour" (corn cooked at very high temperatures to produce a fluid retaining corn product)!.also known as "yellow corn kibble," it involves mixing pregelatinized corn flour with corn meal, then cooking at high temperature to produce a high fat, easily digestible food!.
Though whether it is healthy is questionable, I can certainly say there are no animal products there!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your question made me curious because I had never heard of pregelatinized corn meal before!. This is the only thing I could find about it --
"Yellow Corn Kibble - Corn meal and corn flour combined and cooked at a high temperature under pressure, then ground to produce a high fat and easily digestible food!. Easily hydrates in cold water, forming a viscosity paste!. also called pregelatinized corn meal!." (quoted from http://www!.didionmilling!.com/productscor!.!.!.
It looks to be vegetarian to me if what you have is the same thing!. It seems that most likely starch would be what would make it "gelatinize" then as far as I can tell!.
Hope this helped!. :o)
