Answers:
I LOVED the book! Changed my life forever!. I read the book Sept 2nd all in one day, and have been on a vegan eating lifestyle since!. I tell everyone I know about the book!.

also I realize this is a contorversial book, a love it or hate it, but the fact that there is vegans who hate the book seems ridiculous!.!.!. if it is converting so many others cant you get over the fact that they cuss!? And just be happy that some animals will not be eaten because of this book!.

Seems selfish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'll put it this way!. I was in an airport on January 27th of last year waiting on a connecting flight to come home from a business trip!. I picked up the book in one of the many book/magazine stores in the concourse and read it from Phoenix to Philadelphia!.

In the time it took to take a flight back home from Arizona, I became a vegan!.

And don't think that I'm the type of person that is easily influenced by any old thing that comes down the pike!. To the contrary, I did a couple of random fact checks on information I read in the book over the course of the following week!. Not only did I find the information to be accurate, but I was a little enraged at how brainwashed I allowed myself to become by what the government and the food industry was teaching me about my health!. And the overwhelming evidence exposing the truth about it is just so available that I almost kicked myself for not getting educated sooner!.

Bottom line - an extremely entertaining and informative read!. Definitely beware if you're among the faint of heart!. The writing style is definitely vulgar!. But it's not very far removed from the kinds of things I'd normally say in conversation with a couple of friends!.

Thanks to the authors for converting a carnivore!.

And Happy Reading BEEEEEETCHES!!!!!! :-DWww@FoodAQ@Com

I thought it was funny, but it did just instill what I already know!. My daughter (also vegan) thought it was too preachy and b*tchy and didn't like it at all!.

I had my copy sitting out on an end table when I went away for two weeks and my cat sitter picked it up and read it!. She was semi-vegetarian before reading it -- vegan after!

Its a good book for someone that is sitting on the fence on becoming vegan to read, if they can appreciate the style of writing!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was already a vegan when I read it!. I thought it was eye-opening as I learned some additional things that I didn't know before!.

I curse like a sailor, but the language was a little raw - even for me!. If you can get passed that and listen to the actual message and facts to back it up, it's a good book for those who are considering living a cruelty-free life!.

The only main concern I have with the book are the sample meals in the back of the book!. Almost every meal has some form of soy meat!. While this is okay in moderation, some companies use genetically modified soy beans!. Other varieties are LOADED with sodium!. I understand that they are posing options for folks who currently eat meat (and they want to give a non-shocking transition), but still!. Beans, legumes, whole grains and fresh fruit and veggies cannot be priased enough!.

Hope that helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm 15 and a vegan, and my mom won't let me read it :P She read it and told me the writing style was "crude" and "rough"!. I believe she was referring to all the cussing!.!.!.haha!. I would like to read it, I think I would get a kick out of it, but I already am a vegan so it wouldn't convert me or anything!. Hopefully I will be able to sneak a copy and read it one day :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I had been vegan for over 12 years when I read it!.

I hated it!.

First of all, I hated all the b!.itc!.h talk - the kind of sexist language my generation of feminists fought to stop men using against women!.!.

I also took exception to its tone, I kept thinking 'just who the ****do you think you're talking to!?' - the authors treat the reader like an idiot who just might learn something if they read on and try to keep up!.

That aside, I'm concerned by its premise; its claim is that as long as you're vegan, you'll lose weight!. This is NOT true; even if you avoid junk food, a vegan diet will not necessarily cause you to lose weight!.

I'm also concerned by the amount of mock meats, cheeses etc (ie processed food) they recommend; their menus would have you eating it every single day, and on some days at every meal!. While it's fine occasionally, it's not particularly healthy!. I've looked at the recipe book, Skinny B!.it!.ch in the Kitch, and it seems to me a majority of the recipes call for faux meat or cheese too!.

And I find some of their sources dubious!. Their thinking seems to be 'if it's in a book, it must be true'!.

I have been vegetarian most of my life, and vegan for 13 years, but in my opinion a balanced diet containing a little meat is healthier than the diet this book proposes!.

And they mislead in their claim that the diet will prevent cancer - vegans get cancer too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I read it when I was already vegan and I found it really quite interesting, from a health perspective as well as an animal rights one!. It was a breath of fresh air to hear someone telling it like it is when it comes to our modern diets and the excuses we use for eating crap and being overweight!. I couldn't read the animal horror stories section but after I'd finished the book I lent it to my veggie friend who is now on the way to becoming vegan! It's down to earth and informative and I know loads of people who have lent it to family members and friends who have later gone vegan, which can only be a good thing!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I LOVE IT!.

it totally changed the way i look at food!.!.!.!.i know a lot of people don't like to feel like they're being yelled at by an author, but it really motivated me!.

as of today i have lost 12 pounds since reading skinny b*tch!.!.!.!.and i only started on october 7!! that's 12 pounds in 3 weeks!!! i also haven't added ANY exercise (even though i know i should!.!.!.i'm just lazy)!.!.!.!.i've cut out dairy and eggs (i was already a vegetarian) and have switched to only whole grain carbohydrates and no simple sugars!. i have also given up my coffee (i was REALLY sad to see that go!)!. i've got to tell you though, getting into a smaller pant size and fitting into a size "extra small" dress yesterday when i was shopping was enough to make me stick with it!

if you want to give it a shot, now you can say you know of at least one person who found GREAT success in it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Thanks for posting this!. I was really interesting in Skinny B*tch, but after I became vegan, I figured it'd be a waste of money to buy a cookbook that included meat, dairy, and eggs!. However, since I know that it is vegan-friendly, I'll be heading out to my local B&N!. Thanks a ton for posting this question!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

just in response to this q from last time i answered: :)

when u eat soy meat i swear it tastes soo good that u wont notice a difference once u eat it alot!. im lactose intolerant so i can never have dairy anyway, but i have tried soy cheese and i love it! as long as u incorporate all that stuff in a good recipe u will feel better and not even miss ur old meat and cheese! ive noticed i feel soo much better eating soo healthy (kicked the healthiness up a notch since the book) and i even cut out my once a week pizza that i realized was constipating me and cramming up my insides!. alot of what they said in the book made soo much sense as i to why i am lactose intolerant and my stomach is soo sensitive!. etc!.!.!.!.
if u can get past the cussing its a good book!

have u tried soymilk yet!? they have a vanilla flavored one that is awesome!Www@FoodAQ@Com

it was really good!. i thought it was rather informative and honest!. i liked the point they made about the amount of money we spend on clothes and we hardly wear them that much in comparison to the amount we're willing to spend on food which enters our body!.
i dont think they emphasized working out enough!.

a con the part about fasting was unhealthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It was a very good book!. I already knew most of the 'scare tactics' that they used about the slaughterhouses and whatnot, but it was very informative!. Did you get Skinny B*tch in the Kitch yet!?!? So good!Www@FoodAQ@Com

i haven't yet, but i'm picking it up today thanks for all of the good reviews!. i'm an on the fence veggie and just need some motivation!. thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I liked it! It is a good idea, to combine good looks with vegan philosophy and practice!. After all, the one should not cancel the other!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't have one yet maybe I will read it to my high school students!.!.!.!.LOL
