Where can someone purchase "cruelty-free" meat?!
I am a vegan, but I have a lot of friends who eat meat/dairy/eggs/honey!. They're not ready to become vegans, but they don't want to buy meat from companies/farms that use cruel practices!. Does anyone know what restaurants and/or markets sell cage-free, free-roaming, hormone-free, etc!. animal products!? Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
You can google some meat companies and they usually have some info available as to how they run their farms!. You can decide then which ones fit your standard or criteria of "cruelty-free"!. However, expect to pay premium as such products usually cost more to produce!.

In some cases, "organic" does not necessarily mean cruelty free (or less cruel)!. Organic refers more to the feed and non use of chemicals rather than to the actual treatment of the animals!. A heavily penned cow is still organic if not fed synthetic foods or treated with hormones and antibiotics!. Even milk fed veal or white veal is organic though the conditions for the calf is less than ideal at best!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The best thing to do is to do some web searches for their local state and find small farms that sell locally (whether on site, delivery or via farmers markets)!. Most of the small local farmers are concentrating on attracting local consumers who want these type of products!. Many will deliver to the patrons themselves or supply local farmers markets with their products!. They will have to make sure by either checking out their websites or calling the farms themselves to be sure that the food requirements their looking for are being met!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
There is no such thing as "free range" or "cage free"!.
Think about it!.!.!.how could a farm who sells millions of eggs and dairy each year have "cage free" or "free range" animals on their farm!? Do you think a farmer goes around following the chickens as they run around a farm and picks up their eggs!? Or gingerly milks cows one by one!? No!. That is not possible!. They live in cages/stalls and are miserable!.
As for "cruelty free meat", the fact that the animal is dead and hacked up into pieces should tell you that it wasn't cruelty free!.
Your friends are just too lazy to give up eating meat, and simply don't care enough!. They would rather blindly eat meat than think about where it comes from!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sadly, those that say there is no such thing as "cruelty-free" meat are right!. There's no such thing as "cruelty-free" milk or eggs either!. (Except perhaps if you have chickens as pets that you love!.) Have your friends visit a farm sanctuary to learn about how even "organic" and/or "grass fed" and/or "cage free" are all very cruel practices!.

most grocery stores sell Organic meats now, or they could buy from a local butcher shop like I do, that does their own butchering, those type of small operations don't have the large scale slaughterhouses you see in documentary'sWww@FoodAQ@Com
