Answers:
They have beef fat in them!. I looked at Suzy Q's the other day and it clearly said it in the ingredients!. I know twinkies do too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You know, I just became Vegan about a week ago and I used to love Ding-Dongs!. After becoming more health conscious though, I've been cutting out food with all these "extra" ingredients too!.

A great alternative is to try out Newman's line of cookies!. He makes GREAT Vegetarian Fig-Newton replicas called Fig-Newman's!. The Vegetarian version of those taste REALLY good, although the Vegan version tastes a little more like it's better for you if you know what I mean, although I have got used to them after a couple!.

He also makes Vegan "Oreos" called Newman-O's that taste just like an Oreo!.

Good luck and thanks for going Vegetarian!Www@FoodAQ@Com

hostess does contain beef fat!. however i like to keep checking them even though I am vegan and can't have them anyway!. I noticed that some, like the 100 calorie hostess snacks do not have beef fat in them but use vegetable oil instead!.
So try those or just keep reading them

i saw Hostess 100 Calorie coffee cakes w/o beef fat!. but again double check in case i'm wrong!.

i still have seen some recently w!. beef fat though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think all of the Hostess products contain animal products!. But, here is a recipe to make your own Hostess Cupcakes!. I know you said you weren't vegan but this is the only recipe I have for them!. I have tried this recipe, it takes a while to prepare them, but they are SO GOOD!!
I also want to try this vegan twinkie recipe too: http://abcnews!.go!.com/Nightline/Recipes/!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, there is a type of Oreos that are vegan (I saw it on the peta list, also)!. I forget which kind, I think it was fudge dipped something, but I'm not sure!. My local grocery store's brand of "oreos" is vegan, as are Walmart's brand, and they both taste (almost) like the real thing!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

anything that doesn't have any meat in it :)
also, try some quorn or other veggie meat alternatives!.
little debbie is safe for vegetarians i believe, but it's best to check with them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Read the ingredients!.!.!.if something seems weird, google it and see what it is!.!.!.
I personally wouldn't eat it if I questioned if it was safe or not!.!.!.You should try baking a vegan/veg safe dessert of your own!.

Some Hostess cakes used to contain beef fat which could limit vegetarians from eating them!.

But recently they stopped using that so yes, you can eat Hostess snacks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
