How can we stop people attacking each others choices in the Vegearian & Vegan section?!

Question: How can we stop people attacking each others choices in the Vegearian & Vegan section!?
Answers:
Just rate them with a thumbs down; and if they are really insulting report them!. Other than that I guess all any of us can do is to have some patience with them and with luck they may grow out of it -- some lifetime or another!. Obviously, the omnivores who bash vegetarian/vegan lifestyle in this section are obviously immature and threatened by a lifestyle they do not share, cannot understand, and, cowardly bullies that they are, they obviously feel safe to vent their ignorance, spleens, and hostility in print here where people genuinely want to have help with their questions!. It is unfortunate!. It is sad!. And, yes, it demonstrates a negative human trait we would prefer to avoid!. But, c'est la vie! Take a longer view of the situation and be aware that the last laugh is (y)ours; as we age slower, are healthier and have an abundance of energy that they do not have and will not have!. Sorry, you can't change other people's opinions!.

By enforcing some sort of "internet nanny" rule, like having Yahoo staff weed out people that post dissenting or slightly rude opinions, you only make things worse because it takes, what, 5 seconds to make another Yahoo ID!? And then you get really nasty, angry trolls that make it their goal in life to inject their thoughts into every single post they can find!.

Instead, there's thumb's up and thumb's down functions so you can pretty much minimize the statements you don't like!.

Remember, you can't consider yourself truly informed if you refuse to speak to, discuss or reason with the "other side" of an argument!. If you only pad yourself with evidence, research and conversations that are one-sided (in this case pro-vegetarian) you'll not only never strengthen your own beliefs but you'll demonize and often confuse the other side's beliefs and intentions!.

That goes for everyone, though!. You can respectfully debate a subject and walk away in total disagreement without seriously offending or hurting the other person!. Personal attacks are cheap and easy!. Really being able to defend your position and finding ways to rethink some old positions of yours are key!. This happens to me all the time, I concede to the other side!.

And, as always, we should be thankful for freedom of speech and lack of any regulation on the internet!.

There are countries out there who filter the websites that can be accessed in their country, so that ALL the media and ALL websites cater towards "their" point of view!. They don't have to see any dissent, any immorality, anything that might make them even think twice about their lives and actions and heads of power!. Does that REALLY sound good to you!?

Let people say what they want!. In reality it's a test of how strong YOU are about your arguments!.

If you get so upset when you read someone putting down vegetarianism, are you really that convinced in your own position!? If you were really convinced that you were correct it would totally roll off your back, like it does for me!.

As a vegetarian, for the past 15 years I have had many issues with the meat eaters I meet, and also from other vegetarians who do not follow as strict a diet as I do!. I do not push my veggie ways on others, I do not criticize those who do not eat like me!.!.!.!.!.I am not the judge of others!. What I have discovered is that people feel thretened and judged when others are different!. I have no idea why!. People want to be the same on some level!. Many vegetarians are openly critical to meat eater and vice versa!.!.!.!.some people love a good argument and other people are bullies!. We can take things with a grain of salt- choose the battles wisely! It is not about being a vegetarian/vegan or meat eater!.!.!.there is something else at work!.
I also do not drink alcohol ( it makes me the nightmare of the party)!. I am not against drinking and I still go to bars and parties and my husband loves beer, I am just no longer a drinker!. This drives people crazy!!!! People constantly try to trick me into drinking or will not take a "no thankyou" to a drink!. They make an issue out of my difference everytime ( sidenote; I am a very hyper, loud person, I am not less fun off the sauce!.!.!.!.I think I am more fun)!. But if I bring a bottle of sparkling juice that looks like a wine bottle and drink my juice out of a wine glass no one ever gives me a problem or badgers me at all!. PEOPLE WANT TO FEEL THAT YOU ARE JUST LIKE THEM! That was a long side note!.!.!.!.!.Just be kind!. Attackers will attack!. Listen and let it go!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Easy - don't feed the trolls!. There are lots of trolls who come into this section to cause trouble because they're got nothing better to do!. If you ignore them, then (eventually) they will go away!.

However, there are some people who take what trolls say seriously and that's why they keep coming back!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm sorry to tell you this, but there are some mean people in the world who will say vicious things because it makes them feel better!. Ignore the nasty trolls, be respectful when you disagree with someone, and report the worst offenders!.

And, really, it's not just the V&V section!. People are nasty all over Y!A and all over the Internet, too, I might add!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it's silly!. If you want to eat meat, fine, if you don't, that's fine too!. Live & let live!. We have been eating meat since the dawn of man!. also, you wouldn't try & argue with a lion or shark & tell them not to eat meat!. At the end of the day, we are all animals, & we all need to eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can't!. It's not just the 2V section, either!. It's in politics, the various lifestyle, culture, and gender sections, and in the Religion & Spirituality section as well!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being vegetarian is a lifestyle choice that people should STOP ATTACKING! It is proven to be a healthy choice and often veggies meet their five a day requirements more than non-veggies do!.
Veggies rule!. Bring it on meat eaters!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

People are quick to criticise things they don't know much about!. But everybody should respect the choices people have made even if they don't necessarily agree with them (except if the illegal of course!!)

Ignore them, they're not worth your timeWww@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know!. I never knew what someone ate was a big deal!.!.

I don't care if someone eats oreos as opposed to chocolate chip cookies!. It's just what they prefer!.
Why does everyone else careeee what we eat!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

We can't stop it, but I do think non veggies/vegans come on here just to attack us!. It makes me mad as I don't go on flesh eating subjects and attack them!.

We can't, but we CAN not let them get to us!. Ignore them and go on with our lives!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Each to their own, whether people eat meat or not it's their choice!. Personally, I eat mainly Quorn products putting them into curries, making chillis and other dishes, then I'll eat tuna once a week and perhaps bacon at the weekend for breakfast, I might even have chicken or pork for Sunday roast, so I like to eat both!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make them all eat proper food like the vast majority of us do!

The thumbs down is here?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Buy them all a steak dinner!Www@FoodAQ@Com
