Vegetarians do you have dogs or cats as pets? If so do feed them meat products?!

Question: Vegetarians do you have dogs or cats as pets!? If so do feed them meat products!?
Answers:
Yes, I own cats, and yes, I feed her cat food that has fish in it!.

I can survive healthily without meat; she can't!. People who try to make carnivorous animals vegetarians like them for moral reasons are going against nature and evidently don't understand the animal kingdom!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm vegetarian and I have a Jack Russel Terrier (dog) called Kelly!. I feed her dog food and the odd left-over veggie scrap!. The dog food that I give her does have animal products in it!. I wouldn't risk turning her vegetarian!. However if you are thinking about turning your dog/cat vegetarian I know Linda McCartney did an article about animal vegetarians if you want to google it!. My dog doesn't eat meat either!
She's super healthy too! And she has the most beautiful coat ever!

There are tons of different foods to give your dogs! I give her a dry food, nature's balance or something (I can't remember the name!.!.!.) There are Lots of yummy treats, my local health food store sells homemade vegetarian doggie treats, and my dog LOVES them!. Her favorite snack is carrots, and she loves to eat fresh pumpkin and apples and pears!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am mom to a lovely 17-year-old cat!. Notice I say I don't "own" her because I don't!. I've had her for longer than I've been vegetarian, so of course, I would never make such a radical change on an older cat!. I did change to more natural brands!.

I can do well on a vegan diet; my cat cannot!. But she's very curious about my food, especially the cheese sandwiches my vegetarian boyfriend sometimes brings over and the soy ice cream sandwiches we like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Of course my cats get meat and fish to eat, it's my informed choice to be a vegetarian because I am able to research and reason, that doesn't give me the right to force my decision onto another species, one that genuinely needs to eat meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have a cat, of course i feed her meat! That's the only food thet cat's really eat, they don't exactly like eating veg! It doesn't bother me, it's just life, many people (well everyone) around me have meat (especially pork xp ugh) I just take it, i can't stop them!. It's life! :) ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com

vegetarians can have cats and own pets, it's vegans who cannot own any animals!.

even though many people still call themselves vegan and do so, it's like someone who calls themselves a vegetarian, but they eat fish and chicken!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I'm 15 and I have one cat, I've been feeding him food from http://www!.vegancats!.com/ since he was a kitten (only 2 years old now)!. My reason is not because i'm really paranoid or controlling over what my cat/family eats, but it's mostly because a lot of major brand Pet food industries such as Iams test on animals!.!.!.and of course I'd want to support all the vegan/vegetarian options for our pets out there!.!.

Yes!. I can't afford anything else!. And I believe that cats are supposed to be carnivores!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

What part of being a vegetarian says that you have to force your personal choices on everyone and everything else!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have a cat and she gets meat, because she is a carnivore!. Her body lacks the enzimes to digest veggie protein!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have a cat who I feed regular cat food containing meat!.

However, he does enjoy eating my "fake meat" as a treat =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

cats and dogs are carnivores!. dogs, however, can do okay on a veggies diet but cats MUST have meatWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I'm a veggie, not them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
