Question: PLEASE HELP !?!? ABOUT VEGETARIANS!?!? !?
hi!! i am a new vegetarian (about 29 days)
i was wondering if eating an egg goes against being a vegetarian!. is it alright to eat it!? or noWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It depends of what kind of vegetarian you are or you want to be!.
There are 5 types
1!. Vegans: They don't eat anything that has eyes lips or mother
2!. Ovo- vegetarians they eat everything vegans do plus eggs
3!. Lacto-vegetarians eat everything vegans do plus dairy products
4!. Ovo-lacto-vegetarians (as you understood), they eat all vegans plus eggs and dairy
5!.pesco-vegetarians everything vegans do plus fish!.
And of course you can mix all these categories too!.
So now it is up to you which group you want to belong to and good luck!

It is okay for a vegetarian to eat eggs, if they want!. If they don't eat eggs at all, including in packaged foods!. They would be a lacto-vegetarian meaning they dont eat meats or eggs but do drinnk milk!.

Typically vegetarians are lacto-ovo meaning milk and egg eating!.

If you feel it is okay to eat eggs, then eat them, if you don't then don't!.

(The egg is unfertilized so you are not eating almost baby chickens- They are not chicken abortions!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I lean very heavily towards being a vegetarian but I don't concern myself with infractions that happen two or three times a month!. I still have eggs about twice a month!. I still use chicken when I make soft tacos!. Sometimes I partake of the pizza window at Costco, most of the time the line is too long so I don't stop!. I realize that if I lean at all towards being a vegetarian, I'll live longer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians don't eat meat, or anything an animal has to be killed for, like gelatin and rennet (used in a lot of cheeses)!. Eggs, dairy, etc!. would be considered vegetarian!. Vegans don't eat anything derived from an animal, so if you were vegan you wouldn't eat eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're going about this all wrong!.

You need to decide what you are and are not willing to eat based on your beliefs, etc!. THEN you can decide what category that puts you in!.
You should never pick a label and then try to fit into it - that's not the point!. Let your beliefs and your health guide you, not a label!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yeah you can eat eggs
vegetarians still eat dairy (milk, cheese, eggs)
unless youre vegan
but really, eat whatever you feel right about
i dont really like eating eggs but when i do, i only eat organic ones
same with milk, i only get organicWww@FoodAQ@Com

no way!.!.!. have you seriously gone a month without eating eggs!?!!? that's vegan!!! the only things vegetarians cant eat is:

meat (flesh) or animal parts

eggs, milk, cheese etc is fine!.

vegans are:

no meat
no dairy
no eggs

that is crazy!. stick to veggie =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ovo-vegetarians, like myself eat eggs!. You should try to get your eggs locally and cage free!. I had my own hen's when I was younger, but with college and all, I don't have the time or space for them now!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes you can eat eggs!. if you are a vegetarian, you can eat eggs and dairy!. only vegans eat no meat, dairy or use materials!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

most vegetarians will eat eggs!. I'm a vegetarian but i don't eat eggs because they taste disgusting!. Its really up to you if you want to eat eggs or not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians just don't eat meat!. It's Vegans that don't eat meat and don't eat eggs and any other animal by products!Www@FoodAQ@Com
