I have many questions about the PETA and being a Vegetarian?!
1!. Ok, well I saw a movie about the PETA about the animals being slaughtered and everything!. After watching the video (which made me nauseous) I have decided to become a semi-vegetarian!? ( I will still eat everything except red meat), is there a name for this type of vegetarian!? Well, to tell you the truth, I feel guilty for eating any type of animal, but I need to eat some chicken or eggs once in a while!.
2!. Do you agree with the methods of the PETA!? I agree with that the PETA believes in (not abusing animals, making them into clothes!.!.blah, blah) But I have looked into how they prevent this, and I do not agree with it!. I mean, breaking into laboratories, or stealing other people's animals!? Of course, there is a reason for them breaking in, but can't they just report this to the police or something!?
3!. Will becoming a Vegetarian make me weaker or anything!? I really need to have a lot of energy in order to keep up with school, and martial arts (which I need a lot of energy for), and other things!. Will becoming a vegetarian affect me in any way!?
4!.haha, this is out of the question, but I am 16 years old, and 5 feet 8 inches, anyone know how I can grow anymore!? By drinking milk or anything!?
I did not mean to offend anyone with these questions, and hope I do not!.
Thank you for helping me!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey! That is great that you are considering a partial Vegetarian lifestyle!.
There actually is not an official term for someone who chooses not to eat red meat!. Some people refer to it as 'Almost Vegetarian' but it does not have a name like some of the other kinds of Vegetarians!.
I definitely think PETA is a great source of information and their love for animals is great!. You make a good point in that sometimes they handle things the wrong way!. I do not think that the cops would actually do anything about the things they are concerned about though because testing on animals and slaughtering animals is legal with limited restrictions!. It is something that our world has come to accept as being normal!.!.!. sadly!.
I think being a Vegetarian could or could not make you weaker depending on how you choose to eat!. By just cutting red meat out of your diet I can actually see you having more energy!. Red meat is not very good for you at all!. It is very hard for the body to digest and some particles of red meat can stick to the sides of your colon for up to 6 months, which can't be healthy!. I think you should most likely be fine health wise!. Most people eat on average 7x the recommended amount of protein daily anyway!.
When it comes to you growing, I don't think milk will help!. It is good for your bones to have calcium but you too much can be bad for your bones as well!. If you feel like you need more calcium it would be a good idea to take a supplement!.
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions I have a blog you can write me there!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

dude you are sounding so fake right now , sounds like you want to know if you will seem cooler if you become one dont be a follower!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
1!. You know, being a vegetarian isn't as dramatic as it sounds!. For example, you will not starve and die after two days of becoming a vegetarian, and you really don't have to rearrange the universe to acommodate your new diet!. :)
Now, as far as eating white meats and eggs, I feel that you really don't need to eat these to obtain enough protein (Eggs are okay, I guess, if you're not vegan)!. Chicken and fish's "energy" is just secondhand, hand-me-down energy, whereas veggie protein (soy, nuts, legumes, tofu, etc!., more here: http://www!.vrg!.org/nutrition/protein!.htm ) is high-quality, purer protein!. Protein is everywhere, and so are other vitamins/minerals in meat (e!.g!., leafy greens)!.
2!. Um!.!.!. I'd rather not talk about PETA!. Too controversial!. They do euthanasia, they vandalize, they're radical and extremistic, but they have good intentions, they have had some great victories, and they have awesome campaign materials!.
Different people will give you different opinions on them ("they give veg*ns a bad name," "I <3 PETA!!!"), and I like to remain neutral on the issue, as I try to look at the pros and cons!.
3!. No, going veg won't make you weaker!. As a matter of fact, I practice martial arts myself (tae-kwon-do) and I feel myself being more energetic and flexible and no longer in pain at having to do some measley kick or something of the sort!.
But watch it: depending on how maturely you handle this, being a vegetarian can be both a great panacea or your demise!. Don't pig out on the junk food when it's not necessary and make sure you get lots of water and that your plate is colorful!. :D
4!. No idea what to put for this one!. I heard that getting eight hours of sleep in a totally, completely dark environment can make you grow a certain amount, but idk exactly!.
Oh and as for sticking out!.!.!.!.!. well, let's just say I'm the only vegetarian in my family (and I'm hispanic (meat-based diet, practically)-- which makes it even more rare) and there's only a little less than a handful of vegetarians at my school of over 3000 students!. Sticking out and dealing with people's ignorance about being a vgetarian is something you're going to have to tough out, because it's your values and none of their business!.
Good luck! Make sure ot poke around some websites like HappyCow and such that can help you out!.
Peace out! :D Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm sorry, honey, that some of the people on here are so rude!.
There isn't a name for being part vegetarian!. If you're eating chicken and no other meats then you're a polloterian, but that's not vegetarian!. Eating eggs, milk, cheese, etc is vegetarian (specifically it's calls lacto-oco vegetarian!.)
I completely disagree with PETA and will have nothing to do with them!. I don't like their in-your-face tactics, I don't agree with the way they try to disgust or shame people out of eating meat, and I don't like the fact that they put hundreds of animals to sleep each year!.
Being vegetarian will not affect your energy level - just make sure to eat the right foods!. I'd recommend getting a book like "being vegetarian for dummies"Www@FoodAQ@Com

First of all, you will not become weaker if you become a vegetarian!. Another thing, do not just stop "cold turkey" on eating all types of meats!. Do it gradually!. I mean, yeah, there are some people out there who stopped eating meat the next day and became a vegan!. That's extreme but there are some people out there like that!. Now, you stopped eating red meat and that is a start!. Just try to limit the amount of meat you eat each week!. Pick at least one day of the week where you eat only vegetables and soy based products!. And as for PETA, I agree with quite a bit of things that they do but there are people in PETA that are a little out there and have some screws loose!. Meaning, if I ever joined PETA I would not pose naked in a magazine because I want people to stop eating meat nor would I throw paint on people's clothing!. There are other ways to be a PETA member and not do stupid sh*t!.
And one last thing!. I am a pescatarian!. That is not 100% vegetarian but that is a person that does not eat any land animals (pork, poultry, beef, lamb) but eats only fish!. So, if you like fish or seafood, maybe you can do that!. There are plenty of pescatarians out here!.
I wish you luck!.

1!. Why do you *need* to eat chicken!. They often are treated and slaughtered in the worst way of all farmed animals!.
2!. Experimenting on animals is not against the law sadly!. I fully support anyone who is proactive in stopping it!. I don't believe in using violence though (what people often miss is that the experimenters are also violent to the protesters, and of course towards the animals)!.
3!. Vegetarianism is healthier if you eat a balanced diet!. You get more energy from vegetables as the energy is first-hand instead of being passed through cows/pigs/etc!.
4!. Who knows whether you have more growing to do!?! You may have finished!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
