Do you interested in genetically moified crops? Why or why not?!
A genetically modified organism (GMO) or genetically engineered organism (GEO) is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The problem with GMOs basically comes down to one statement: these products seem to be being manufactured for commercial and personal gain, rather than human need or compassion!.
Corporations such as Monsanto (who holds a virtual monopoly on GM seeds, for example) flog GM crops as being resistant to certain pests and diseases, and therefore "better"!. However, they deliberately manufacture them so crops from these seeds will not produce new seeds themselves: so farmers are forced to buy new seeds from Monsanto!. They also manufacture them so pesticides and herbicides likewise made by Monsanto will work on them!. Who do you think really wins here!?
I've seen very little evidence to date that these crops miraculously increase food yields as promised to feed the Third World, or that they will somehow produce foods that are better for us than conventional ones!. It's people who eat (by their own choice in the main) a poor diet that will buy the junk foods that have been GMd to continue their bad diets with less remorse!.
None of this is to mention what the long term consequences of fooling with genomes of entire organisms might be, and their long term effect on us, animals and the environment!.
In short: no, I dont think GM crops are much of an idea!. Far more research needs to be done properly on the long term effects and context of what these products may do!. The key to this technology should not be held by large corporations whose first interest is their shareholders rather than human need!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
