"Just Me" is completely wrong!

Some people who talk up a "vegan diet" call them vegans even if they only do it for the health benefits, but these people generally still eat things like honey, so even the term dietary vegan" is a falsity!.

Veganism is a lifestyle and what we eat is just the most obvious difference to the way others live!. Every action that involvess animals being used for our benifit is non-vegan!. No leather/silk/wool!. No horse racing/dog breeding/dolphin shows!. No buying/cooking/selling animal products!. Nothing other than looking after others interests!.

hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The Vegan Society, founded by Donald Watson who invented the word vegan, defines veganism as

' a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment!. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals'!.

Thus vegans don't use or buy footwear, clothing ,toiletries, cosmetics or household products that contain animal by products!.

People who follow a vegan diet but who, for example, wear leather aren't vegans!. Not because it's an exclusive club or anything, but because it's a word with a dictionary definition!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, vegan would mean NOT EATING products that came from animals!.

The thing is, most people who are vegan are vegan because they are into animal rights and that's why they won't wear leather, fur, etc!.

But there are other people who are vegan because of religion and health!. Those people are still vegan, but some probably wear leather, fur, etc!. because they're not vegan because they're so into animal rights!.

That's the diff :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

In general, veganism includes not using anything that comes from an animal!. If you have the resolve to give up the food, in general, most find you have the resolve to give up the clothes!. Their are vegan brands of clothing and shoes, and their seem to be more all the time!.

I would recommend looking at http://thediscerningbrute!.com/ for ethical fashion, and also vegnews!. The former is primarily geared toward men, but often links to useful resources for women!.

What's more controversial is reuse!. While many of us do not want to support the killing of animals, you need to draw the line for hand me downs, heirlooms, and thrift shop finds!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If its not animal tested make up then its vegan i guess!. In definition vegan is the action of not consuming stuff that comes from the animal!. Lets say you can't eat dairy products or drink/eat honey!. Cause they all come from animals!. Obviously don't eat the animals if your vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

True vegans don't eat or use anything that comes from in animal, even including things like honey and monoglycerides, and including cosmetic and clothing items!.

(EDIT) I agree with bornagain in that Just Me doesn't know what she's talking about!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It all depends on why someone goes vegan!. For some, it's all about the animals, so they don't touch anything that's been tested on or made from animals!.

For others, it's for health reasons, so they may or may not use these items!. For these people, even hunting would be okay!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

i try to be a vegan gt 3 year(but still no clear yet!.)!.!.!.!.!.!.!. for me is not kill animal/eat animal or any life things!.!.!.!.!.hv be fertilized egg not eat, milk can drink,x animal tested clothers!.!.!.!.!.n some makeup(lipstick)/use animal experiment(shampoo or dishwash atc!.!.)n candle(from whale)/madicine(make from animal!.!.!.!.!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegan is when you do not consume anything with animal products in it what-so-ever!. also not buying clothes with leather, silk, suede, etc!.
And using all products that are not tested on animals or harm animals in any way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A vegan eats no animal products (meat, milk, honey, etc!.) and also wears no animal products (leather, wool, silk, etc!.)!. A vegan would also not use make-up tested on animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being vegan means that you don't wear, use, or consume any animals, or any animal by-productsWww@FoodAQ@Com

vegans do not use anything that involves an animal!.
no animal products to eat!.
no wool or silk!.
no ingredient in non food items, like glycerin or stearic acid!.
and no animal testing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegan diet is eating!.

Vegan lifestyle is everything!.

But you really can't call yourself Vegan if you wear leather!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegans don't eat or use animal products!. They don't wear leather, wool or silk, and they don't use other products that have animal ingredients or testing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
