What are the pros, and cons of being vegan?!
I'm currently vegetarian, and I'm happy to be! I love animals, and despise the cruelty that goes into putting meat on peoples plates!. I've heard lots of things on going vegan, so I wanted to get some real opinions on the pros and cons on being vegan!? Anything rude or disrespectful will be reported!. ThanksWww@FoodAQ@Com

I am not a veggie or a vegan but one huge con for me would be checking all the packets of the foods i could and couldn't eat, eating out and being a dinner guest at someones house as you never really know what is in the food you are eating!.
Lack of calcium could also be a problem if you do not eat a lot of calcium vegan friendly foods!.
Some research has said that vegans have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease than both veggies and meat eater and a lower cancer risk!.
Basically a diet is only as healthy as you make it!. A vegan diet could consist only of fried chips and beans and would obviously not provide you with all the nutrients you need!. As long as you research a vegan diet well and be prepared to spend a good few hours visiting some approved sites and finding out about nutriants and vitamins there is no reason why your diet should have any cons!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pros:
- you're not hurting animals
Cons:
-can still eat a lot of junk food!. (Vegan mayo, vegan ice cream, vegan cookies, oreos!.)
-if you don't watch out for Vitamin B12 deficiency, you will have serious neuro deficits, AND IT IS IRREVERSIBLE!.
-you might be hungry all the time (but this isn't true for everyone)
-you'll find an it extremely difficult to eat out with friends because most places are "vegetarian" friendly, not "vegan" friendly, meaning most dishes have eggs or butter or milk!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

pros:
*no cruelty!.
*no guilt after a meal
cons:
*really hard to get protein
*you could very well end up in the hospital from lack of nutrition!. my close friend did!.
thing to keep in mind:
*you CAN buy cruelty-free eggs and dairy products
*try just limiting your egg and dairy consumption
im a proud vegetarian, but going vegan would be too hard for me because of medical conditions i need a high calcium diet, which would be hard to maintain without dairy!. if you really devote yourself to it, you can find a safe vegan diet that works for you!. look online and ask your doctor before any major changesWww@FoodAQ@Com
