Answers:
plain gelatine is gelatine that is not specified where it came from!.
Most/almost all gelatin is from animals!. Rarely will it be from plants or whatever!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There was a big controversy about gelatin several years ago that regarded Vegan Marshmallows!. A company tried to sell their marshmallows as vegan, and using vegetarian gelatin, but it ends up, they lied!. There is now a company that does it, and replaced gelatin with something non animal based!. You can also make your own!.

Another non-vegetarian food is gummy bears, which I have found pectin jels are actually better, and contain no gelatin!. Yogurt also often contains gelatin!. It's not necessary there, but is popular!.

There is no such thing as vegetarian gelatin, it is all made of animal bones, usually cow, sometimes fish (kosher)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gelatin, no matter if it says where it comes from or not, is made from the collagen of animals (found in bones, hide, and cartalidge!.) If it says kosher gelatin it is still made from animals!. The only time it is vegetarian is if it clearly says vegetarian - then it's not really gelatin at all but it's just called that - it's seaweed!.

The gelatin that is in main stream candies like gummy bears, junior mints, skittles, starburts (US kind!. UK is vegetarian) and things like yogurt, some chowders, etc is not vegetarian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Apparently it's made from ground up animal bones!.

"extracted from the collagen inside animals' skin and bones"

So, it can come from land or ocean animals!.

"used as a gelling agent in food, pharmaceutical, photography, and cosmetic manufacturing"

Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can!.
they dont Need to kill the animal to get gelatin!.
it comes from already dead animals so its up to you!.!.
im ok with it but thats just me!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
