What is a good substitute for rice?!
I am eating 1500 calories a day and dinner's consist of vegetables with wholewheat pasta one night, couscous the next and rice on the third night!. I hate rice and always have, I have eaten the rice meal twice now and cant stand it!. What can I substitute for the rice that is appetising!? I am vegetarian so no meat and please no tofu, I hate that too!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

There's a company that does package a lot of grains called Bob's Red Mill!. Most stores will carry these products, but you can also order them online from www!.bobsredmill!.com
You seem to rely heavily on grains!. I'm a huge fan of lentils myself!.!.!.give them a try! Barley is also great, but I would recommend trying another kind of rice!. Brown rice has a slightly creamy, nutty flavor, and black rice is slightly sweet and creamy!.

There are lots of good grains besides rice: millet, quinoa, buckwheat (kasha), whole wheatberries, amaranth and barley!. Some of these aren't well known, but they are very tasty!. You can also use lentils!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Good carbohydrate subs could be potatoes, sweet yams, corns and plaintain bananas wjhich could be naturally sweet!. They fillup quick and taste good too!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
