Vegans: What do you order at fast food joints?!

Question: Vegans: What do you order at fast food joints!?
I'm lacto-veg, but I have question for vegans!. What do you order at fast food places!? Which places!? Like, if you're on a road trip, you don't want to be a pain in the neck and be flexible when getting food!. So, what are some options!? (I go on road trips a lot with non-veg people, and I'm vegan-lite until I can go whole hog!.) So, any suggestions!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
fries
go to taco bell and get a bean burrito (or something similar)
salads
baked potatoes
veggie subs
you can try buying packaged/baged meals like tastybites indian meals, a bunch are vegan and you just need a microwaveWww@FoodAQ@Com

I really don't eat at fast food joints often!. If and when I do go, Subway is usually the place where I can buy what I want!. (A Veggie Delight)!.

Chipolte is a decent choice - they have a black bean and rice burrito that you can buy!. Just make sure you buy the black beans and not the brown ones!.!.!.those are cooked in animal fat!.

Burger King uses Morning Star Farms veggie burgers (the kind with the carrots and mushrooms in them)!. Since you said you're not 100% vegan yet, you could eat that (I think the burger might contain eggs and milk)!. Where I live, they cook them in the microwave, so there's not grill cross-contamination!.

Of course, if you come across any type of Chinese restaurant (Panda Express, Magic Wok), you can order some veggie stir fry or veggie lo mien!.

Good luck and safe travels!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The only fast food I ever really eat is Subway!. Their Italian bread & sweet onion sauce is vegan, and then whatever veggies you want!. I think they have other vegan dressings/oil, but the sweet onion sauce is sooo good, that I've never really bothered to inquire about anything else!. :) Oh, depending on where you live, or where you travel, Tom Wahl's (I think they're mainly in NY, but there might be other northeast locations) veggie burger is vegan, and it's fresh made, not some frozen crap!. They're really good, but huge!. I often have a hard time finishing one in one sitting!. At Taco Bell, you can get a seven layer burrito without cheese and sour cream!. I always ask for some guacamole on the side to add to it!. Their guacamole is vegan, and their tortillas are lard-free!. Wendy's and Arby's have baked potatoes!. I'm not sure about Arby's, but at Wendy's they have options like sour cream & chive, or broccoli & cheese!.!.!.you can ask for a plain one with chive & broccoli!. There's always crappy side salads, too, I guess!.

I love going to In N Out and vetting a veggie burger, which is really onions, tomato, lettuce and pickles on a bun, and a side of fries!. I don't know if ther buns are vegan though (I'm a vegetarian)

The veggie sub at Quiznos is yummy! (you could get it minus the cheese)

There are some vegan options posted here:

Salad Salad Salad!!!!
Although lately it seems that alot of fast food joints are putting chicken on salads and they are all pre-made!.!.!.!.it's suckie!.
When I am on a road trip, I love to stop into Whole Foods or a grocery store with a really great deli/salad area and I stock up on tasty treats that fit my diet!. That way I have pre-made food that is usually better than fast food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I try to avoid them as much as possible since there's often not alot of options!. You could stop at a cafe instead,it would have a lot more options availble to you!. Or go to subway i guess!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Fast food joints really have no vegan options!. I would suggest you pack yourself a cooler full of carrot sticks!. Carrots are full of essential nutrients your body needs!.

Yes you can live only on carrots!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I just went through this scenario!. I had to drive through several states on a move, and what I did was pack several sandwiches in a lunchbox that had insultation (so they wouldn't get too hot!.!.!.not like it mattered since I didn't use meat, cheese, or mayo)!. I stopped at a friend's house along the way and stayed there for a few days!. While there, I bought foods for myself so that way they didn't have to accomodate me!. When I set out for my destination a few days later, I made myself some more sandwiches and headed out!.

Fast food won't always accomodate to you, but almost all restaurants will!. It'll be easier for you since you're a vegetarian, but even being a vegan I'm able to find foods pretty much everywhere!.

So, in short:
1!. Pack food!. Not stupid carrots!. Actual FOOD!.
2!. Instead of stopping at fast food places, stop at grocery stores or even some gas stations during a long road trip!.
3!. When you are about to leave for home, pack yourself more FOOD!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
