im a veggie and have been for 21years(im 27) Yogurt is always avoided because it has live cultures in it!.I hope this don't shock you,but cheese is another thing to be avoided,It contains rennent which is extracted from a dead calves stomach!.Gross huh!?I ate cheese until I was educated 9years ago!.I applaud you for taking a stand for what you believe in!.You didn't know it was in there,so don't feel guilty!.Good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com

It's surprising the number of things that do contain animal by-products in them!.
While you're still new to being vegetarian, be extra careful to read the labels of everything to weed out any sneaky meat items!.
Don't beat yourself up over it though - you made a mistake, learn from it and move on Www@FoodAQ@Com

You'll live!. You made a mistake; we all do it and you'll almost certainly do it again!. Once you know the product isn't vegetarian/vegan you know not to have it again!. It's your intentions that matter, not your mistakes!.

Mouthwash was a bit of an extreme reaction - and are you sure Listerine is vegetarian!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah Activia is one of those sneaky products!. It's ALWAYS best to check the label, even if you're convinced it couldn't possibly be unsuitable for vegetarians!

My whole family is vegetarian, we used to get Pop Tarts for a treat sometimes and it was months before one of us looked at the label and discovered beef gelatin!.!.!. Ergh!.

As horrible as it is sometimes it happens and the best thing to do is take a deep breath, throw the thing away and try to forget you ate it!

I think the key word here is mistake!. Everyone makes mistakes!. I don't know about you, but I don't claim to be perfect at anything, and that includes my veganism!. (I just tried one of those soyjoy bars I saw on the tv and in my excitement over soy I didn't look at the fact that it had dairy until I was over halfway done!) In fact, I love my mistakes, not only because I learn from them, but because it helps to show some people that veganism (and vegetarianism, for that matter) isn't some unreachable pillar of moral superiority and strict dietary laws to abide by!. It's cheesy as hell, but it's a journey, there's going to be some missteps along the way, the point is that you keep on walking with your head up!.

The best part is, now you know to read, read, read your labels! =DWww@FoodAQ@Com

well honestly I don't care about your question, but I would like to let you know that your comment you wrote under one of my questions about my nobility title, and whether or not I had to get rid of it!. Considering that you don't know me, I don't think you should be telling me what I have and what I don't have!.

also, I've been veg for 6 years, and I think your question is very stupid!. You aren't even asking a question!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

aw, its ok!. we all make mistakes!.
once, i bit into a burrito and realized i had a mouthful of beaf!. i nearly puked (kinda did a lil bit)

eventually you will become like we all do!.!.!.the label readers

lol you can spot us veggies at the store reading the back of labels of everything we considerr buying

but its worth it, right!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It'll be totally okay! You didn't mean to, and you really shouldn't feel bad about it!.!.!.!.!.!.!. I once accidentally ate some dip that had beef in it!.!.!. I had been shoveling it down all night and then I realized it wasn't okay! At first I felt nauseous, then I cried, then I was okay!Www@FoodAQ@Com
