Question: I sorta saved a mouse off of a gluetrap and!.!.!.!?
here is the story

my mom saw a rat in the dishwasher so she freaked out and got some glue traps!. i was thinking "CRAP" because i do not want to see any animal get killed, much less a cute little mouse!. suddenly all the traps started **ahem** disappearing!.!.well, i missed one so i hear a squeak and a mouse is on the glue trap that missed and did not throw away!. so i cut the mouse out of the glue, and stick it in a jar with a peanut butter cracker!. unaware that mice can jump, i left the lid off planning to release it after it ate some!. it jumped on me and i threw it across the room!.!.i would have never done that, it was just my reflexes!.

it bit me!.!.it looked healthy but i was wondering what the chance is that i may get sick!.

I feel for you! A long time ago someone (I've since forgiven him, but it took a long time!.!.!.) put a glue trap under my kitchen sink!. I heard the sad squeak and I rescued the poor thing and put a bit of baby powder on the glue left on it's body so it wouldn't be sticky!. I released it outdoors far away!. I was lucky it didn't bite me!.

I think you should call your doctor and see if they recommend getting a tetanus shot!.

Don't bother getting a cat just to catch mice -- I have 6 cats and still have mice!. I got some great humane mouse traps on eBay called Mouse Cubes!. They are very easy to use but if you get them -- you MUST check them at least twice a day!. Once caught, the mice won't live im them very long!. I used peanut butter flavored cereal as bait because I thought real peanut butter would be too messy in the cube!. If you try them, don't use too much bait because the mice learn to get what they can reach before the door closes behind them if there is enough for them to reach!. Smart little things! also, release them pretty far away where they will have some shelter (but not other houses) or they will find their way right back into your house!.

Last winter I caught 15 mice in 2 days using Mouse Cubes! I took each one way behind my house, away from other houses and set them free!.

Good luck! Don't forget to check with the doctor for the bite!.

i think you are honest, and to answer your question almost all hardware stores sell humane mouse traps!. If I wear you, I would see a doctor!. There is no telling what types of diseases you can catch, rats often do carry diseases!.
I don't blame you for how you responded to the rat jumping onto you, i would probably have done the same thing!. But what counts is that you saved the rat!.

First, go the doctor or emergency room and let them tell you whether it is something to worry about!. But do seek attention ASAP!. There are new traps!. They are round and when the mouse gets inside it spins and closes it up inside!. Any supermarket should have them!. I think they are by Decon or something!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If this is real (((Get to a medical clinic now))) mice carry rabies and other viruses including plague!.

Maggie, only you know if this is real or not!. If that mouse has rabies your life is in danger!. People trap wild mice and rats for these reasons, they aren't cute little pets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should go to the doctor and get a rabies vaccination just in case (assuming the bite broke the skin!. If it didn't, you're fine)!.

Here's a catch-and-release rat trap that's only about $12

If you release the mouse it will be right back in your house!. I'm all for humane treatment of animals but there is such a thing as carrying it too far!. You're trying to save an animal that probably just took a dump on your food or eating utensils!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most hardware stores carry catch-and-release traps nowadays!. If the mouse didn't bite, you're probably okay, but try not to inhale any of the mouse droppings or fur in your room!. Well done to be concerned for the little critter!

If it bit you, then it is advised to go and see your physician!. You may need some injections as a precaution!. It may only be some pills!. Animal bites can cause serious infections in some cases!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you should go get checked you may need a rabies shot just to be sure!.

and definitely get humane traps they are much nicer and more effective!

i know you are not a troll! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Go to the doctor before you wake up tomorrow with rabies and they have to kill you too!.
Then get a cat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

why is this in food and drink are you planning on bbqing it i dont get itWww@FoodAQ@Com

umm!.!.!. did the mouse have glue board stuck to each little foot!?!?!? omg!!
Did it die when you threw it!?

p!.s!.
Vegetable oil takes that glue off, instead off cutting him little cardboard shoes!. roflmao!.

Sorry you got bit!. Prob, fine, might want to get the rabies preventive shots tho!. Rabies is a crappy way to die!.
And!.!.!. good for you saving the mousies!.

My mom and I used humane traps to trap them when I was little, and we would go together to the park and release them!.

It's unlikely you will get ill, especially if you used an anti-septic on the bite and don't pick at it! You're actually more likely to get an infection from human bites than animals!.

You can make your own trap like this: http://glass!.typepad!.com/journal/2005/09!.!.!.
But if you have more than one mouse you can sellotape the toilet roll tube onto the ramp so that it is hinged, and when one mouse has fallen in it flips back to wait for another!.

Make sure you put something soft in the bottom for them to land on and some cucumber or other wet vegetable so they don't die of dehydration/stress overnight!.

You must take them at least a mile away to release them (preferably nowhere near other houses, or they may go there and get killed) or they can find their way back!.

You can also get ultrasonic deterrents, or electronic devices which cause the wires throughout the house to vibrate in a way they don't like, so they may leave!. When we had mice, the last mouse left was a mother with some babies; she wouldn't leave till they were old enough (4 weeks), even though she didn't like the device!.

Find where they are coming in and block up the holes so they don't return, and put away all food so there is nothing for them to eat!.

You could borrow a blanket which somebody's cat has slept on and spread the smell around the house!.

They also don't like mint or chilli, and you can also put balls of foil screwed up to fill holes to stop them getting through!.

By the way, killing them doesn't work anyway, because it's impossible to kill them all, so all you do is create a space for the others to breed more (and of course it's the best ones at surviving who will be breeding - evolution in action!)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
