Question: Question to vegeterians/vegans!?
i switched over to vegetarian and then to vegan in the last 6 months or so, has anyone lost a lot of weight!. I lost a lot of weight and completely messed up the shape of my body and I have this occasional pain on my left chest (on the muscle, peck, or whatever you call it) and that side of the chest!. i went to a gastro!. doc!. and he told me that my pain was not diet related!. so i guess my question is, did anyone experience this sort of stuff when switching over!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe Hank Hill is right!. But you don't need to eat chicken or fish!. I also lost weight!. but i didn't have that any pain like what you have!. Maybe you are lack of protein or iron!. You should eat tofu, beans ,mushrooms, nuts, grains and other source of protein!. spinach and green vegetables for iron!. or maybe your liver contains to much fat because when you have protein deficiency, your liver may store more fats!.

Chest pain is also a symptom of Gastroesophageal reflux disease!. Certain foods and lifestyle are considered to promote gastroesophageal reflux, but a 2006 review suggested that evidence for most dietary interventions is anecdotal; only weight loss and elevating the head of the bed were supported by evidence!. A subsequent randomized crossover study showed benefit by avoiding eating two hours before bed!.

or you may also have the following:

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other causes of heartburn

Hiatus hernia (which may not accompany GERD)

Achalasia, nutcracker esophagus and other neuromuscular disorders of the esophagus

Functional dyspepsia

Yea, that's pretty normal!. I used to be vegetarian for 3 years and then after visiting my doctor he told me about all the health risks and explained that was why i felt so weak and tired all the time along with the constant pain!.

After introducing chicken and fish into my diet i have recovered fully and i feel better than ever! Better yet, vegetarians are allowed to eat chicken and fish so i'm still technically a vegetarian!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The only weight you should lose is fat!. If you do it right you shouldn't lose any muscle!.

Eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg and you'll be right!.

Your pain is not normal, if you still have it you should see a specialist!. But the pain shouldn't be from your veganism!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

No never happened to me but im not vegan so i eat plenty of cheese!. Which is a good source of fat and proteins!. Try eating foods like this and you should put the weight back on, obviously you'll have to find a vegan substitute!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
