Considering your diet I'm not surprised you're ill!

I haven't had a cold once this whole year!.

Kelsey, what's the point in telling people not to drink milk, then suggesting they eat cheese!? Do you know where cheese comes from!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe if your tv dinners have any veggies and plain meat you can boil it with a little water and garlic and make a broth

Best way to clear a cold is to keep warm, sleep or rest and drink lots of natural healthy fluids

(i!.e!.) herbal teas, hot water with lemon juice, home-made freshly squeezed orange juice, room temp filtered water, vegetable broth!.

Things like powerade are full of artificial colours - you need to drink natural healthy fluids instead!.

Soup is not expensive and home-made soup is very good for colds!.

Anyone can make this one, even a non-cook!. Even my five year old cousin can make it!

It will cost less than $5!.00 to buy all the ingredients and it will make enough to last for a few meals:

1) Peeled and seeded pumpkin cut into cubes (300 - 500g)

2) Peeled & sliced red or brown onion (1)

3) Peeled & grated garlic (2 - 5 segment pieces)

4) Peeled & grated ginger root (half inch)

5) Put all of above in pot and cover with water or vegetable stock!.

Optional: if required, add additional seasoning (i!.e!.) teaspoon vegetable stock powder, teaspoon miso, chopped up fresh parsley, cracked pepper!.

6) Bring to boil, when the pumpkin is soft remove pan from heat and allow to cool!.

7) When cool, blend it in food processer!.

If you don’t have a food processer, mashing it up with a fork or potato masher works well too!.

8) Store in a container (glass if possible) in the fridge

9) Gently re-heat portion on stove when ready to eat!.

Only re-heat in a microwave if you have no other choice because microwaved food is pretty bad for your health!.

Onion, garlic and ginger are considered Super Foods as they have lots of beneficial health qualities!.

Onion, garlic and ginger (especially the ginger) are exceptionally good for healing colds / flu and clearing up stuffiness / mucous etc…

Cayenne pepper is also exceptional good for colds/flu and half a teaspoon can be added to the soup also!.

May I suggest to you that you have an impaired immune system from the crap that you eat!. Sorry I am not trying to be rude, just truthful!. I use to eat really badly too and got sick all the time, but not had a cold/flu outbreak since I changed my diet!.

There is absolutely no nutritional value in cheezits, cookies and microwave dinners!. You need to get vitamins and minerals inside you everyday, in the form of fresh raw fruit, fresh raw vegetables, fresh home-made vegetable juices and green smoothies!. This way you will mainly avoid colds/flu, and if you do come down with something you will recover quicker!.

Avoid milk and all dairy products, as they cause mucous build up which will only add to the congestion!.

Things like sugars and grains (i!.e!.) wheat, bread, biscuits etc!.!.!. should also be avoided during this time, as they can also cause other related health issues!.

I find cheezits, cookies and microwave dinners to be very expensive and fresh fruit and vegetables to be very cheap!. Plus fresh fruit and vegetables can be stretched a long way!. I made a similar soup recently, the total ingredients cost me $3!.50 and the soup lasted for 3 days!.

Hope you feel better soon!.
