Answers:
Alternatives to soy milk -
Rice milk!.
Oat milk!.
Both have VERY different flavours to soy milk!. Try different types of soy milk though because they all have different flavours!. Vitasoy is very creamy whereas So Good is very light and thin!. And to hide the flavour as well soy milk comes in vanilla, chocolate, strawverry etc!. as opposed to plain!. Chocolate is the best to hide the soy taste!.
Tofu is also very contraversial!. depending on how you cook it!. it absorbs ANY flavour so you just cook it til you find a way you like it!.
An alternative to tofu is Sanitarium fake meat, or TEMPEH!.
umm god!.!. iron isn't too hard as long as you're eating plenty of vegies!. V8 original juice is GREAT for iron!.
Protein should be covered easily by you choice of vegan milk - also have chickpeas, mixed beans, lentils!. - can mix in with vegies!.
Calcium and B12 are a main concern!. I would take B12 supplements - it is REALLY hard to find B12 in food sources - enough of it anyway!. You will have to email companies to ask if their supplements are vegan!.
Calcium is hard!. you won't absorb all the calcium in your non dairy choice milk but a lot of calcium supplements have crushed cow bones in them!. There is one you can buy that is made from sea vegetables tht is good!.
if you have any other qusetions my email is kirstieh89@hotmail!.com i've been vegan for 9 years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm in the process of making the switch, too!. I have a few great books!.!.!.How it All Vegan, Vegan Lunchbox, and Becoming Vegan!. The first two have a bunch of great recipes (and I think you can get most of them online, too), and Becoming Vegan has a lot of nutritional information to make sure you are getting the right things to make your body work well!. Right now I'm concentrating on eating as many fruits and vegetables as I can everyday and just adding some nuts, seeds and grains, too!. Once I've been doing this a few months I hope I'll be able to make some real meal type recipes, but for now I'm going to keep it simple!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
For a milk substitute, you could try almond milk or rice milk!. Get the vanilla or chocolate kind, because the plain isn't very good!. In general, just eat lots of fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, beans, etc!. You don't need soy milk or tofu!. If you want some good recipes, this is probably the best site:

Hemp or almond or rice milk are good alternatives to soy milk!.!. I hated soy milk at first too, but now I'm used to it as it is the cheapest one!.!.
