How can i ask my Vegan friend to laid off in a very nice way?!
I love my friend to death, and i would do anything for her!. I would say i am the more laid back out of the 2 of us, and i like to stay open minded about things, which is why i support her being vegan, among other things!. I do my best when i have a party to make dishes that she would enjoy and can eat (im not the best cook), i mean the point is that i TRY!.
I dont wear furs or anything like that, but i choose to eat meats and dairy!. and because of that i am always getting an ear full from her, and i am getting a bit tired of it!.
How can i tell her that i am getting frustrated with her trying to shove her beliefs down my throat!? I dont mean offense to anyone that is a vegan, and i know there are a lot of people that are more passive then her, its just starting to make a tear in our friendship!. Thank you!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just like you told us!. This Vegan lifestyle is what SHE chose, not you!. Ask her to kindly NOT force her beliefs on you!. If she is a friend, she will understand!. She may not realize that she is doing this!. Explain to her what it makes you feel like, when she is shoving her beliefs down your throat!.!.!. Ask her if she would like it if you were to push on her about being a carnivore!.!.!.Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
tell her the way to convert people is only to mention it if asked but instead to bring lovely vegan dishes round for you to try but to make no other comment!.
people who are bullied will in fact get anti-vegan and that she is giving vegans a bad name, and will lose friends for herself!.
i love my friends who make any attempt to make me vegan food! you sound a great friendWww@FoodAQ@Com

Tell her exactly what you just said!. Because it will ruin your friendship eventually!. She has her reasons for being vegan and I am sure you have your reasons for not!. So what you two have a different diet!? Tell her before it does begin to push you both away from one another!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
You need to put your foot down and remind her that you respect her choice, yet she isn't giving you respect on yours!.
As a vegan myself, I am both embarrassed and outraged!. It's people like that that give the group a bad name!. We're not all like that!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just tell her that you respect her life style and choices and would like for her to respect yours even though there different from hers!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
it's her LifeStyle homie!.
And really your friendship should not be based on what you eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Stop trying to appease her!. You are giving her attention for being vegan and she is milking it by telling you how to eat!. You should be able to bacon or whatever without her buggging you!. You should be able to eat your food without hearing about KFC and whatever!. It's this kind of behavior that gives vegans a bad name!. I have had friends for months before I knew they were vegan!.
Ask her if she is being vegan because she really believes in it or is she doing it for attention!. Vegans should not expect people to make special food for them at parties and such gatherings!. They can bring their own as anyone with any other diet restrition would!.
In Budhism, this kind of behavior is considered to be a form of spiritual materialism!. Instead of saying "I am Sara" it is saying "I am a vegan"-- kind of like saying "look how cool I am because I have a new car" Www@FoodAQ@Com

First, it's so wonderful that you're trying to accommodate your friend!. I'm sure she appreciates your attempts at making vegan food for her!. I mean, most other people probably try to convert her to eating meat, so she really needs to show some appreciation for your efforts!.
I understand where you're coming from!. I've been vegetarian for health reasons for more than 7 1/2 years!. Still, my friend of 6 years, who is an animal rights vegan, keeps trying to convince me to take that next step!. I know what issues concern her, but they've never motivated me!.
Perhaps you should sit down with your friend and ask her why she is vegan and why she thinks that you should be vegan as well!. Is she concerned about health, animal rights, what!? Maybe if you understand why she's so passionate about this, you two can have a good discussion about it!.
After that, tell her just what you've told us!. Tell her that you try really hard to respect and accommodate her choices, and that you expect the same respect in return!.
also, remind her that you attract more flies with honey rather than vinegar!. If she wants to convert you or anyone else, she should try doing so in a positive way, by holding polite and informed discussions, and not by harping at people all of the time!. It will make people respect her for her choice even more if she can explain it in a calm and rational way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need to tell her how you feel!. Tell her that you value your friendship, but when she doesn't respect your beliefs (like you respect hers), it makes you feel as she doesn't value your friendship and respect your opinions!. Let her know that it hurts your feelings, and try as you might, she doesn't seem to notice how you go out of your way to accomodate her opinions!.
Some people just don't notice that they are doing this, and hopefully once you have a heart-to-heart with her, she will realize and change back into a great friend!.
Good luck, and I wish you two the best!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think that what you told us would do the trick!!
just remind her that as her friend you are more than happy to be supportive of her choices but that she also needs to be respectful of the fact that you may not have the same viewpoints!. let her know that this kind of mutual respect is important in a friendship and that you'd like to let her know it's bothering you before it becomes a bigger problem!. hopefully she'll be a good enough friend to get the picture!.
i'm a strict vegetarian myself and don't know anyone else that doesn't eat meat!.!.!.!.if one of my closest friends (especially a supportive one) said to me what you've said here, i would DEFINITELY try to be more sensitive to the issue!.
good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being a carnivore is as much a decision as being a vegan!. You're aren't trying to get her to eat meat! If she is really a true friend, she will be understanding of you telling her that you appreciate and try to cater to her beliefs as much as possible (cooking and whatnot), but you don't need to hear about them every time you sit down to a nice steak dinner!. It just ruins the meat! Approach with caution and empathy, but don't be afraid to be firm in your beliefs! You have rights as a meat-eater, and I think you've been more than accommodating! GO MEAT!
Personally, I couldn't live without meat, but to each his/her own! You don't see me trying to convert vegetarians!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
