I have only been participating in Thanksgiving for a few years since coming to the US but my husband's family traditionally offers green beans (french cut) to which a can of mushroom soup (no water) is added and it is topped with French's Onions!. You could use a low fat mushroom soup to keep it healthier and do your own onion topping instead of the canned type!. Hope this helps some!. They are very tasty this way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I really like green beans (fresh is best, but frozen works as well!.!.!.canned doesn't work very well for this)!. I saute the green beans in a little bit of olive oil, (saute some garlic first if you like garlic!.!.!.I do, but it works well without it as well), and when they are just heated through add some sliced toasted almonds and saute for a little longer, then it's done, and very yummy!
So: Green beans, Olive oil, garlic (optional), and sliced toasted almonds!. Saute!. Eat!. Mmmm!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can do cooked green beans with some sauteed onions, mushrooms and bacon, its delicious! You could also go with the tradition green bean casserole, I think the recipe is on the back of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup!. You could also bring a nice fresh salad with lots of veggies!.
