I think I answered another one of your similar questions, but I will elaborate more!.

In my humble, though well researched opinion, I believe humans are meant to eat a diet of no more than 5-10% animal protein!. This includes all meat/dairy/eggs!. The rest of our diet should be fruits, veggies, grains, legumes, etc!. Humans who eat less than 10% animal protein in their diet have significantly lower rates of heart disease, diabetes and cancer!.

I've recently started researching the dietary habits of chimpanzees who, as you probably know, are our closest "ancestor" in terms of similar genes!. Why!? Because there are so many sides on what we humans should be eating and what we have lived off of in the past that I don't know what to believe!. Surprisingly, what chimps eat coincides with this 5-10% animal protein business!. Numerous studies show them eating only 3-5% animal protein of insects, eggs, birds and carrion!.

How does all this help you!?

No, I don't believe a completely vegan diet is the best choice!. However, it is very possible to live off of it, especially in today's world!. It is also very understandable to go vegan for moral and environmental reasons!.

As an athlete in college, I am an octo-vegetarian, meaning I do not eat meat or dairy but eat eggs!. I have cut out dairy and meat for health, moral and environmental reasons!. ANYONE who says all vegetarians and vegans look sickly is ill informed!. I have gotten stronger, faster and healthier on this diet!.

Go back to what you like!. You say you don't like meat!? then don't eat it!

How long have you been exercising and dieting!? You are going to have to have some patience; this won't happen overnight!. Give yourself a few months!. Establish a routine of exercise!. Do cardio AND weights multiple times a week, whether you think it is beneficial to you or not!. Every week, you should be running longer and harder and should be able to do more weight!.

Go back to your vegetarian diet, and try omitting dairy!. Limit your calorie intake too, though it shouldn't be hard on a diet like this, especially because cutting out dairy makes you cut out many junk foods out there!. Stay completely away from soda and candy!. Eat all whole grains, and eat five or six small meals a day instead of two or three larger ones!. Don't eat 3-4 hours before bed!. Have a glass of water before your meals!.

If you need motivation for staying on a no-dairy, no-meat diet, look beyond health and begin researching what goes on in factory farms and the impact of them on the environment!.

Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Totally vegan is only healthy if you have the money and a dietician to afford to do it right!
Another choice is just to be a vegetarian, that way you can still eat eggs and dairy!.
But these changes are not usually made for weight loss, so for you I would suggest just limiting your calories, and exercising more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it is only healthy being vegan if you KNOW YOUR FACTS!!

Do some research and make sure you're getting proper nutrition!.

If u dont like the animal products coming from animals!.!.!.just make sure you buy from a company that treats their animals well-- such as Horizon dairy!.!.!.they treat their cows well with a wide open range and milk them in their own habitat and feed them organic foods!.!.!.

Just do your research and be a TRUE vegetarian-- not someone who makes up their own rules

In addition to your fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and nuts, a weekly B12 supplement is reccomended!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It may be healthy but most vegetarians look so pale and sick!. I would supplement my vegan diet with the following:
Beef
Chicken
Fish
Pork

No, it's not a healthy diet, and not a good way to lose weight!. Losing weight takes time! A healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week!. If you lose at this rate (or slower) you're more likely to keep it off!
It's all about making a lifestyle change- exercising a whole bunch and eating a healthy, balanced, varied diet!. I don't know what kinds of exercise you've tried in the past, but try to do cardio workouts- they'll burn calories immediately!. Running is really effective!. You just have to be patient and keep it up!
Eat carbs, but make sure they are good ones! Avoid white bread, candy, SODA, white rice, etc, and stick with Good carbs, like whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole grain pasta, popcorn, fruit, milk, etc!.
Drink 3 glasses of skim milk a day- it'll fill you up and it's sooo good for you and your bones!
Eat a little bit of lean meat and/or eggs, nuts and beans every day- not too much, excess protein will store as fat (same as with carbs and fat), but it will help build muscle if you're working out (which will make you burn more calories!)!.
Eat allllll the vegetables you want, and eat 3 pieces of fruit a day!
There's no need to starve yourself or be unhappy with a diet!. It'll make you fell great, and you can still have fun eating healthy foods!!
And if you want a piece of chocolate every once inawhile or something, that's okay too, because one day out of a week won't ruin everything!!
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you eat enough veggies, you don't need any extra vitamin supplements!. As for weight loss, don't set weight loss as a goal!. Set exercisign and proper diet as a goal!. set short term goals like , this week I am going to exercise 5-6 days a week atleast 1-2 hours a day!. And I am going to follow my diet plan 90% of the time this week etc!. You can have one cheat meal every week!. As long as you stick to your exercise plan and diet plan 90% of the time you will do fine!. When you follow your exercise and diet plan correctly, you will eventually start seeing results!. But if you ahve results as the goal, you will only frustrate yourself!. So dont aim for the end, aim for the means (exercise and diet), the end will come by itslef!. Just stick to the plan, and have faith in it!. Even if you lose just 1lb a week, you will lose like 50 lbs in a year, 100 in 2 years!. So don't worry about the weight, it will come off!. For now, just keep your goal as proper diet and exercise!. Good luck!

As for veganism, I have no idea!. Looks like you are trying to go vegan for weight loss, personally, I don't think thats a wise decision!. It will only increase your craving and you will end up binging on junk!. Instead have some organic dairy fat in your dairy in very small amounts everyday!. Natural suggars (fruits) and natural fat (nuts, cottage cheese et) will keep you happy and natural fibers (whole wheat, rice etc) it will be easier to stick to your diet plan!. Make sure you eat in very small portions (you are allowed one cheat meal once a week, but don't binge during that cheat meal either)!. The first two weeks or so might be difficult, but eventually your body will feel full with less food!. Always stop eating just when you feel like eating a littel bit more!. This will give your stomach some space to work with the food and digestion and metabolism will improve!. If you stuff your stomach with food, only part of the food will be digested and rest will be converted to fat!. So less food = more energy! good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

A vegan diet can be very healthy as long as you get the proteins, antioxidants, and vitamins that you need from the food!. Using whole foods is best, like brown rice, different types of beans, tofu, any soy product!. There are actually specialty products for vegans that you can buy at the grocery store!. I know this because I lived with one for about 9 months, and most of the food she made was delicious!. She just always made sure there was a balance of protein foods, and bright colored veggies (have the most vitamins), and fruits like banana's and veggies like Avocado's, and Bock choy (sp) are very high in potassium and B vitamins!.

A vegan diet will definitely help with weight, but you still have to exercise!. It really is a healthier diet for most people, but many can not imagine a diet without meat or dairy!.

If you know what you are doing, you can survive on a vegan diet just fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I recommend a well-balanced vegan diet that excludes bad foods, like sugar, alcohol, and refined carbohydrates!.

You should eat a good combination of the following foods:

Beans
Brown Rice
Whole Grains
Fruits (not juice)
Vegetables

The foods above provide you with complete proteins!. If you eat a good combination, I'd expect you to meet most of your requirements!. You should avoid the following foods, even the ones that are vegan:

Sugar
Refined Carbohydrates
Oil (Animal)
Oil (Vegetable, except one oil tablet per day)
Alcohol
Meat
Fish (Mostly)
Milk (I prefer to avoid dairy)
Eggs (some think egg whites are OK!. I don't)

My diet is more restrictive, but Dr!. Dean Ornish has a program that works and is based on scientific research!. Dr!. Ornish does recommend supplements including vitamins, minerals, and an oil tablet each day!.

My diet is well-balanced, so I've not needed any supplements, but, I'd defer to the good doctor in this case!.

In addition, I'd make sure that you get enough aerobic exercise, 8-9 hours of sleep, sunlight (vitamin D), and some form of stress management or yoga or meditation!.

I've lost 40 pounds in 4 months and still counting!. I've never felt better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
