For moral, health and environmental reasons!.
I eat the way I do to impact the world and others for the better, and to be a role model to those who share similar sentiments but don't believe they can make a change (many of my friends have cut out meat or limited how much they eat)!. I want to show people that someone like me, who eats no dairy or meat, can be a successful collegiate athlete!. Meat does not make muscle!.
I do not wish to support factory farming, an inhumane, disgusting business that heinously butchers animals, sometimes while alive, that is the number one cause of global warming, and that uses a disproportionate amount of resources while thousands of children starve elsewhere!.
Vegetarians and vegans have significantly lower rates of cancer, heart attack and diabetes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I let people know that I choose not to eat meat because of the inhumane way that animals are treated!. I tell them that there is plenty of food for me to eat without having to eat any animal products!. I don't care if people eat meat but my being a vegan really bothers the meat eaters that I know!. i usually just say that i don't like the taste of meat because it's better than telling them the truth that i actually went veggie for moral reasons and it's easier because we don't have to get into the whole Q&A thing
