So I decided I'm going to be vegetarian?!

Question: So I decided I'm going to be vegetarian!?
And I'm really going to follow through with it! Like I'm going to be vegetarian the rest of my life! Yeah I'm not going vegetarian cuz of my weight or anything I mean I'm pretty fit and muscular, but well I just ate a plate of chicken like 30 minutes ago but I thought seriously about how I was eating an animal which once was alive and I felt disgusted!. :'(

So basically is there anything I need to know about going vegetarian!? Like any tips or suggestions or anything!? Thanks! Www@FoodAQ@Com

The first thing I would recommend anyone is eat a lot of fruit and vegetables!.
Then eat what you like as long as it doesn't have animal products in it!. Don't worry about protein and calcium and iron!.!.!.all minerals are in the fruit and veggies!.

And if you visit the V&V, watch out for negative posts!.!.!.!.there's big money in keeping kids on meat diets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Going vegetarian means that you are taking the first step to whole health!. There is absolutely no reason that a vegetarian's health should be anything but improved!.
Make sure you are replacing your meat intake with fruits of vegetables, preferably leafy greens!. Read "green for life" by Victoria Boutenko,
and that will ensure that you are having all your nutritional needs met!.

Eating animals is NOT a natural thing for us to do!. It is a rather recent developmentnt in human behaviour!. Humans were actually designed, much like our cousins the Chimpanzee to eat greens, fruits, nuts and seeds!. Meat eating happened primarily after such modern conveniences like having stoves and ovens in our homes!. Around the same time that heart disease, stroke, cancer, etc!., started menacing humans!.

Well if you're going to be a vegeterian, you need to realize that there is a lot of responsibility that comes along with it!. You need to eat lots of lentils (beans, etc!.) and peanut butter and maybe even some dietary supplements!. You need to still get lots of protien, and you're iron levels tend to decrease a lot!. I am a vegeterian, and i have to go to the hospital twice a month for needles because i'm anemic!. That most likely will not happen to you, but you need to be careful about your iron and protien intake!. I recommend you take Centrum daily vitamins ( they're orange pills) to keep yourself in good health, as your immune system also decreases!. I'm not trying to scare you away from being vegeterian, because it is a good choice, in my opinion, but you should just be aware of the responsibilities!. I hope this is what you were looking for :)

P!.S!. I know Tofu is supposed to be "so disgusting" but there are actually some really good recipes out there for cooking tofu that you might want to give a try!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just make sure you eat balanced, so vegetables!. Not just meat substitutes, candy and carbs, and you should be fine! Good idea also to buy a veggie cook book! :) Good luck, and good on ya!Www@FoodAQ@Com
