Ok this is very simple, and the other people answering this question need to be more thoughtful about other people (sorry you other guys)
Very good websites
http://www!.chooseveg!.com
http://www!.goveg!.com
http://www!.vegweb!.com (this one is also a forum)
They shows you MANY things you need to know, and some super awesome recipes, I suggest you RESEARCH these websites if you want to LEARN "the way of vegetarians and vegans"
Here is a website that is very resourceful
http://www!.thedailyplate!.com
It shows the nutritious value of ALL foods like Apples, Alfalfa, Apricots, etc!.
My FAVORITE dish (and I am a vegan) is my special CHILI!!!!!
Chili is simple to make without all that meat fuss, it is beans (kidney, white, pinto, whatever kinds you want) loads of veggies (onions, green peppers, tomatoes, chilies, whatever kinds you want) a chili sauce (homemade or from the package, for ease use the package, for deliciousness and authenticity the homemade kind) And a tomato sauce (for ease use the can, for deliciousness and authenticity the homemade kind)
Its all about experimentation, you must find recipes, cook them, and If they do not suite you, go ahead and try to change them for the better!.
Good faux meats are things such as tempeh, TVP (textured vegetable protien) tofu, veggie dogs, boca burgers, morningstar alternatives (search it) and many more!.
GOOD LUCK
you will do great, just make sure to not be a junk food vegetarian (eat lots of whole wheat such as brown rice, whole wheat flour, whole wheat pasta, beans, legumes, etc) and eat a lot of veggies and fruits (use the website thedailyplate to find the most nutritious ones)
People say "you have to watch your protien" IGNORE THOSE IGNORANT PEOPLE, the majority of OMNIS (meat eaters and plant eaters) eat TOO MUCH protein, and you get a lot more variety of protien than the average westerner's diet if you are vegetarian!. Just make sure in each meal you include different kinds of protiens (vegetable protiens, wheat protiens, rice protiens, etc!.)
Don't be quick to go crazy on the milk, cheese, and eggs (I suggest not frying eggs, just hardboil and poach them) Try to eat goats milk (if you can stand it) and goats cheese (again with the standing it problem) it is a lot healthier!.
also think about cutting out milk for a couple of reasons BUT I will only give you one to ponder
A Human mother produces milk for her baby, FOR HER BABY, not for other ANIMALS, does it seem right that COWS should be inseminated by machines and have their babies ripped from them and killed for meat (veal) or sent back into the dairy indsutry (females) just so you can drink another species milk!?

you should try eating more fruits, veggies and nuts and try to cut down on meat, fish!.!.!. you can even try some meat alternatives!. the easiet way to make the transition is to try out new vegetrian dishes and find out which you are going to enjoy on a long-term basis and then prepare a weekly diet based on it and slowly try to cut down on meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
We humans evolved over millions of years to an omniverous diet!.
Mammals survived dinosaurs because they adapted to eat flesh!.
Animals like cats & dogs evolved to be carnivors almost exclusively!.
Their digestive systems are not adapted for quantities of vegetation!.
Cows & sheep, oth, are exclusively vegetarian & cannot eat meat!.
Our Creator or Mother Nature designed everything to work together!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Whether it's for health or animal welfare reasons there's nothing wrong with vegetarianism!.
Give it a try but read up and find out about it so you make sure you get all the different things you need for full nutrition and you'll be fine!.
And it does seem to make for a healthier circulatory and digestive system!.
I'm not sure where you'd get your iron from!. Like I said, read up!.

YAY
ok im 14 and i love to make
broccoli & cauliflower- boil water add veggies check on them untill they are how you like them then drain them, you can have them with rice and beans with taco seasoning and salsa but always check the ingredients
just boil rice covered (put it on high then when it starts to rise in level put it on low medium) check on it every ten minutes until as soft as you like it
dry beans need to be soaked in water overnight then boiled for a while
so usually i just ask for canned beansWww@FoodAQ@Com
