I'm a tall, strong, 205 pound healthy warmblooded male vegan!. I felt a whole lot better when I quit meat and dairy a longggggg time ago!. But I've also educated myself on nutrition!. Maybe he needs some nutritional information or planning, and some healthier eating habits instead of just scarfing down some cheeseburgers, which won't do any good at all!. Or maybe his health problem is not related to diet!. Keep a diary of what he eats and see a doctor or dietitian!.
Carbohydrates, fats, and protein put on weight-- Carbs and proteins have about 4 kilocalories per gram, while fats have about 9 per gram, There's plenty of all three in a plant-based diet-- especially if he's only vegetarian and including other animal products!. You need protein plus you need to work the muscles hard to build muscle mass!. !. You're mistaken to think that he is not eating protein because there is no meat!. And you're mistaken if you think cheese has no protein if he's a lacto vegetarian eating cheese pizza!. If all he did was suck down 4 slices of a 14" cheese pizza, he's up around 50 grams of protein or more!. He might try adding some actual vegetables and fruits instead of just pizza and pasta full of simple carbs and greasy cheese!. lol!. It doesn't sound like he's eating very well from what you've said, and may be missing out on vitamins and minerals, rather than protein!. You can only use so much protein for muscle building per day-- then the rest is burned or stored as fat, and your body has to filter out the waste, while too much protein also is bad news for your body's calcium!. I'd rather he see a professional for advice on his dietary habits, and a doctor for his health problems than for him to give up his ideals!. Vegetarianism is very healthy!. The doctor who advises me is a vegan, and that is healthy also if you eat well!. The idea that you need big steaks to be strong is a myth!. I have vegan and vegetarian bodybuilder friends!. He needs to eat right and exercise!.!.!. and eat enough calories to support his big body!.
Suck it up and go to a doctor, man!. It's your health!. A blood test may tell you what's wrong instead of guessing and fooling around with your health!. I don't know where you live, but the farther north you go especially in winter, the harder it is to get vitamin D in your body from exposure to UVB from the sun!. There are very few foods with vitamin D naturally, and you might ask about taking at least 1000 IU of vitamin D a day!. You'd be surprised how many people don't get enough of it!. Ask your doc about it!. If you're not eating healthy, you may be missing out on a lot of other nutrients too!.
Whatever he decides to do!. I hope he feels better soon!. I know us guys are stubborn sometimes!. If he still insists it's animal protein he needs, if he eats eggs still, I don't personally use or agree with using them, but egg whites are considered a high-quality protein!. Some free-range chicken eggs might be something he could try for a while if his vegetarianism is important to him-- as an alternative to going back to flesh!. And don't forget to throw in some veggies :-| If he still refuses to eat some veggies, he might benefit from a daily multivitamin!. C ya!.

I kno when i stop being a vegetarian i would get sick from eating red meats i thought it was mental but i would not eat meats for two weeks and the minute i would eat a certain kind of meat i would get a headache or have stomach issues!. when i was pregnant with my daughter i was anemic and the vitamins or the increases in green leafy vegetables wasn't enough so i ate beef liver and mackerel!. i was a the point of having a blood transfusion!. good luck!. I believe but don't quote me on this i think he is having headaches because his body is getting the artificial hormones and stuff these companies process!. If he wants to eat meat again i think organic would be the best wayWww@FoodAQ@Com

The only way you could have a health problem is if you aren't doing it right!.
You should make sure that the major part of your diet is fruit and vegetables!.
Even vegans can be sick if we don't do it right!.
To build muscle you boyfriend must exercise them!. I've seen some muscular vegans!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
