I want to become a vegetarian.?!

Question: I want to become a vegetarian!.!?
I was a vegatarian for over a year a while ago, but I became dangerously anemic so my mom pulled me off the diet!.

I want to convince her I can do it again, but since I was a vegetarian the first time, I've been to an allergist and discovered I'm allergic to: soy, legumes, spinach!. (Basically all the alternatives I know about)

So my question is: What kind of diet can I be on, that's healthy for me, and not a hassle for my mom to make!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
You can get enough protein by eating enough vegetables!. You will also get enough calcium unless you are a vegan!. The problem is you probably won't have enough vitamin B12, iron, fatty acids (from fish)!. It may be a problem if you do become a vegetarian, being allergic to all those things, but you can take vitamins and pills!. You can also become a semi-vegetarian!. There are different kinds of semi-vegetarians!.

Semi-vegetarianism — A diet that excludes certain meats, particularly red meat, but allows the consumption of others in limited amounts!.
Pescetarianism — A diet that excludes all meat except fish, shellfish, and crustacea!.
Pollotarianism — A diet that excludes all meat except poultry and fowl!.
Flexitarianism — A diet that consists primarily of vegetarian food, but that allows occasional exceptions!.

Anemia is such a pain! I had like, a relay realy extream case two years ago and it was horrible (kinda my fault!. I didn't relay eat any of the leafy greens that would have prevented it)!. It is really cool that you are determined to become a vegetarian - even when you can't eat most of the alternatives due to Your allergies!. I remember wen i was anemic, and how i was always looking for "high in Iron" foods!. On the nutrition facts on all foods it will say IRON:(number)%!. some foods don't have this and if they don't that means there isn't enough iron to mention it!. You goal should be to get 100% Iron a day by adding up the iron % on the food you eat!. Cereal is a great source for iron, some brands even have as Much as 75% per serving! also when you are eating high in iron foods try to have a glass of orange juice or something else with a high amount of vitamin c!. Vitamin C helps your body absorb the iron, so you get more of it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe take alot of protein pills!?
also you may need to eat eggs or maybe fish if you want to carry on with being a vegetarian!.
I'm a vegetarian, I didn't eat eggs or fish etc and I got very sick because I'm allergic to dairy products and couldn't have any protein!.
I started eating eggs about once a month, its made me better, and its better than eating steak!Www@FoodAQ@Com

anemia is caused by a lack of iron or b12 (responsible for the absorption of iron)!. a lack of protein itself has nothing to do with it!. you can just take iron and b12 supplements (check ingredients-gnc has a line of non animal derived supplements)!. if the rest of your family is non-vegetarian the fact that she has to prepare seperate dishes for you will be a hassle!. perhaps you should prepare your own meals!. well i was on The South Beach Diet!.!.!. it's really easy!.!.the book is at almost every Walmart!. Buy the book!. And it will tell you everything to make and what to eat!. You loose a lot of weight!. And the food is great!. It usually tells you like you can't eat bread or noodles for so often, then like certain types of meat!. And it splits it up into sections!. It works great and it's healthyWww@FoodAQ@Com

I've seen a lot of people become vegetarians and quite a few do have "symptoms" of allergies!. Most times it's the body cleansing from all the years of eating indigestible food!.
Keep at it and eat more fruits and vegetables!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a Fruitarian and I am doing well!. You can try a Fruitarian diet and add some nuts for your protein intake!. Get a lot of smoothies!. Check this site and read everything about it !. Good luck!.
