Genes also play a large role and having a well balanced diet of all the major food groups is also important!.

I attempt to share experiences that I've encountered and the out comes of said experiences!. Hopefully, this would shed a positive light enabling the person to make a better choice for their situation!. When a decision has to be made always consider more than one solution and then decide which solution would work the best for them!. I'll tell them that what they are eating is terrible for them, but then I'll drop it!. People do stuff that's bad for them all the time and it's their right!. Take smoking for example!. They know it's going to hurt them, but whether they do it or not is totally up to them!. Im a vegetarian and everyone in my family are meat eater and I sit down with them everyday for dinner but I dont dare tell them that what they are eating is slowly killing them instead I have told them that if they ever want to become a vegetarian then they could come to me for full support!. I keep trying to tell my mom to cut down on the meat!. She's attempting to try the atkins diet for weight loss!. I know it isn't working!. I have a couple family members that are obese and a few suffering from diabetes, I'm not sure how to tell them!. I know of many people who have cured diabetes through a well-balanced vegan diet, but like they'll listen or try it!.

I just visited my uncle who is laying on the hospital bed due to kidney failure!. Almost everyone there that suffering from chronical illnesses were meat eaters!. Sorry to say that but from my investigation on random census, non of them were vegetarian!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, if you are going to tell them that what they are doing (eating, smoking ect!.) is killing them slowly, you need hard facts, otherwise they have a right too doubt you!.
I'm not saying that they have a right to call you names ect!. but if confronted with 2 possible truths (eg!. Eat Meat - die young _or_ Eat Veg - be undernourished) the average person will choose the one that satisfies them the most now (taste, fun ect!.) and do not listen too their brain telling them that the other option is more rewarding in the long term!.
If you have tried to give them your opinion, and they refuse to believe, you cannot help them, unless you have the hard facts, and if nobody who has more knowledge than the average person disagrees with the fact (eg!. a expert on food disagrees that if you eat veg you live longer), yet, still, the human mind is most often in a NOW frame, rather in a FUTURE, or PAST frame!.

Carnivores:
- teeth are fang-like, designed for tearing flesh
- digestive tract is very short; food goes in and out!. Nutrients to be digested are taken quickly
Humans:
- teeth are flat, designed for grinding grains and plant material
- digestive tract is longer to allow more time for body to absorb nutrients
So the human system is designed more for plants and grains, not for meats!.

I can appreciate the frustration that comes when people don't hear what you're saying!. My family would gang up on me and give me a terrible time!. But I did what was right for me, and when asked about my food, I'd explain!. I'd also comment that I felt better when I ate a plant-based diet, and that many of the ailments I'd been suffering had disappeared!. Even things like colds and sore throats were diminished or disappeared altogether!.
And then, surprise of surprises-- my niece began to ask me about my veg products!. She'd been living on cheese sandwiches literally for years!. When we were at a cookout and I shared my Boca Italian Sausage, she was thrilled!. It opened a whole new world for her!.
You need to be Johnny Appleseed here!.!.!. plant a few seeds of information and then move along!. Some of your seeds will grow, some won't!.

Did you know some of the healthiest and longest lived people eat a great deal of meat!. There is no real proof the reasonable eating of meat and dairy is harmful!. I have had heart surgery had nothing to do with my diet!. Think on this if our ancestor's had not eaten meat we would not have this brain that lets us play on this site!.
