I'm a vegetarian because I was raised a vegetarian!. Its a compulsory requirement in my family's religion to be one but my parents never forced me to me remain one!.
In my teens, there was a time when I felt like I wanted to eat meat because all my friends were eating it!. But I couldn't put it in my mouth because it looked nasty and smelt nasty enough to make me puke!.
Now I am a vegetarian because of the way animals are slaughtered and treated!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do not eat meat!. I am a vegetarian!. What does this mean!? I do not eat/use anything that an animal had to be dead for it to be produced!. Yes, no gelatin, rennet, leather, anything like that and meat!.
This is because I love animals!. When I was little, I cried when my cousin squashed a grasshopper, and I still do get upset when I see this!.
How I think, is that the animal didn't HAVE to be killed, you could have eaten something else!. Hunting is evil!. Did you ever see Bambi!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegetarian for SO many reasons!. For the environment!. For my health!. But mostly because of the animals!. Chickens and turkeys live in horrible conditions!. So do pigs and cows!. The way they are slaughtered!.!.!.!. it makes me sick just to think about it!.
I have a friend who considers herself a "vegetarian" even though she eats free range meat!. For me, even eating free range is not an option!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you know that:
-There has not been a single controlled clinical trial that has produced any reduction in CHD mortality that can honestly be attributed to saturated fat restriction or cholesterol-lowering!?
-Long-term follow-up studies have shown that those with the lowest cholesterol levels tend to live the shortest lives!?
-So-called heart-healthy polyunsaturated vegetable oils have been linked to cancer and heart disease!?
-Cholesterol-lowering drugs have not been shown to provide any longevity benefit to women, the elderly, or high-risk men free of heart disease!?
-In Japan, where low-fat diets supposedly protect people from cardiovascular disease, it is actually those who eat the most saturated fat that have the lowest rates of stroke!?
-There is no clinical evidence that eating more whole-grains will reduce your risk of heart disease!?
-Vegetarians do not live longer than people eating a typical mixed diet!?
-Most of the information disseminated by health authorities today is designed not to protect your health, but to benefit vested financial interests!?
If you believe fresh red meat and saturated animal fats cause cancer, you have been brainwashed!. If you believe a vegetarian, high-fiber, organic diet of fruits, vegetables and whole grains does not cause cancer, you have been brainwashed!.
In the scientific literature, there are surprisingly few studies done on vegetarian longevity!. Russell Smith, PhD, in his massive review study on heart disease, showed that as animal product consumption increased among some study groups, death rates actually decreased! Such results were not obtained among vegetarian subjects!. For example, in a study published by Burr and Sweetnam in 1982, analysis of mortality data revealed that, although vegetarians had a slightly (!.11%) lower rate of heart disease than non-vegetarians, the all-cause death rate was much higher for vegetarians!.

Vegans in India have the lowest life expectancy and are frail and the weakest!. However Weston price studied a Native American tribe who ate buffalo, cows, sheep, squirrels, even dogs their bone structure was perfect and they had no dergeneitive diseases!.
Many studies prove that eating red meat and natural animal fats while restricting
carbohydrates is not only healthy but will prevent and cure many diseases

I've been a vegetarian for 25 years and could not eat meat!. This said, I live in Australia and ferel rabbits, pigs and deer are a real problem!. Not being native to the country, they kill native animals by destroying their habitat!. They also spread disease, such as mange, to other animals!. Ferel cats also kill native animals!.
Whilst killing these ferel animals can be inhumane if the shooting is innacurate, poisoning is worse and also it can kill other animals or birds that eat poisoned carcasses!. Traps are inhumane too!.
As these animals need to be killed to protect our environment and native animals, it would be best if they were eaten!. I know that most people could not eat cats, but I really don't see why eating one animal is any different to eating another!. After all, most meat eaters eat pig, unless they don't for religious reasons, but pigs are very clever and can be kept for pets!. In France, horse is eaten!. Any animals can be pets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are incorrect in thinking that if someone shot and killed a deer, it would be alright!. Hunters don't always kill what they shoot!. To get one deer to eat, they may have wounded another which may take days to die!. You either agree with killing for food, or you disagree!. As for treatment of animals in slaughterhouses!. If an animal is going to a slaughterhouse, it is going there to die!. They never go for the good of their health!.
A slaughterhouse is an ugly place!. Many on here talk about slaughterhouses, but only refer to what others have said or written about!. I've been in one and I wouldn't recommend it!.
I'm mostly vegetarian!. I've tried to be one for health reasons, but I found the range of food very limiting!. I have worked in the catering industry and can make all food interesting!. I now eat mainly veg, but I still eat meat because I feel better on that diet!.
I have no problems with anyone whatever their diet is!. We are all different in every aspect!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, I'm vegetarian for a couple reasons and I've been conflicted with similar ideas!. First off, in a way, yes!. I do not believe it's wrong to eat meat per se, but I'm against the way most animals are raised in our culture!. At the same time, I probably wouldn't eat an animal that was recently killed in the wild because, although I don't think it's inherently wrong, I do believe it is unnecessary from the stand point of my situation!. I don't need to eat meat to be healthy as I live in a culture with plenty of alternatives that are less cruel!. So it's a matter of trying to reduce suffering!. But I could definitely see myself possibly eating meat at some point, depending on my situation!. For example, if I travel abroad to another culture I won't necessarily be strict!. I also care a lot about the environmental cost of animal agriculture, which is another reason I'm vegetarian, but that too is not really an issue with hunting (as long as it's done sustainably)!.
