Can some one please explain how being a vegan is going to benefit me and my health ?!
-There has not been a single controlled clinical trial that has produced any reduction in CHD mortality that can honestly be attributed to saturated fat restriction or cholesterol-lowering!?
-Long-term follow-up studies have shown that those with the lowest cholesterol levels tend to live the shortest lives!?
-So-called heart-healthy polyunsaturated vegetable oils have been linked to cancer and heart disease!?
-Cholesterol-lowering drugs have not been shown to provide any longevity benefit to women, the elderly, or high-risk men free of heart disease!?
-In Japan, where low-fat diets supposedly protect people from cardiovascular disease, it is actually those who eat the most saturated fat that have the lowest rates of stroke!?
-There is no clinical evidence that eating more whole-grains will reduce your risk of heart disease!?
-Vegetarians do not live longer than people eating a typical mixed diet!?
If you believe fresh red meat and saturated animal fats cause cancer, you have been brainwashed!. If you believe a vegetarian, high-fiber, organic diet of fruits, vegetables and whole grains does not cause cancer, you have been brainwashed!.
In the scientific literature, there are surprisingly few studies done on vegetarian longevity!. Russell Smith, PhD, in his massive review study on heart disease, showed that as animal product consumption increased among some study groups, death rates actually decreased! Such results were not obtained among vegetarian subjects!. For example, in a study published by Burr and Sweetnam in 1982, analysis of mortality data revealed that, although vegetarians had a slightly (!.11%) lower rate of heart disease than non-vegetarians, the all-cause death rate was much higher for vegetarians!.
Many studies prove that eating red meat and natural animal fats while restricting
carbohydrates is not only healthy but will prevent and cure many diseases!.
-Most of the information disseminated by health authorities today is designed not to protect your health, but to benefit vested financial interests!.
scientist have recently learned that being vegan shrinks your brain ( http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=Zqen8Vbuh!.!.!. )
The Okinawans live the longest on earth and there diet is 62%+ from pork products!.
Soy Dangers Summarized
* High levels of phytic acid in soy reduce assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc!. Phytic acid in soy is not neutralized by ordinary preparation methods such as soaking, sprouting and long, slow cooking!. High phytate diets have caused growth problems in children!.
* Trypsin inhibitors in soy interfere with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic disorders!. In test animals soy containing trypsin inhibitors caused stunted growth!.
* Soy phytoestrogens disrupt endocrine function and have the potential to cause infertility and to promote breast cancer in adult women!.
* Soy phytoestrogens are potent antithyroid agents that cause hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid cancer!. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease!.
* Vitamin B12 analogs in soy are not absorbed and actually increase the body's requirement for B12!.
The scientific evidence, honestly evaluated, does not support the assertion that "artery-clogging" saturated fats cause heart disease!.
Actually, evaluation of the fat in artery clogs reveals that only about 26% is saturated!. The rest is unsaturated, of which more than half is polyunsaturated!.
Saturated 18-carbon stearic acid and 16-carbon palmitic acid are the preferred foods for the heart, which is why the fat around the heart muscle is highly saturated!. The heart draws on this reserve of fat in times of stress!.
The Eskimos had no carbohydrates and no fiber in their diets but suffered no detectable health effects!.
In fact, their health was excellent with absolutely no dental caries,
no heart disease,
no cancer and excellent bone health!.
Price traveled the world over in order to study isolated human groups, including sequestered villages in Switzerland, Gaelic communities in the Outer Hebrides, Eskimos and Indians of North America, Melanesian and Polynesian South Sea Islanders, African tribes, Australian Aborigines, New Zealand Maori and the Indians of South America!. Wherever he went, Dr!. Price found that beautiful straight teeth, freedom from decay, stalwart bodies, resistance to disease and fine characters were typical of primitives on their traditional diets, rich in essential food factors!. And every group had a high intake of fat soluble vitamins!.
Mothers with a vegetarian diet in the first half of pregnancy had a 4!.99 times greater risk of having a boy with hypospadias compared with mothers who included meat in their diets, the researchers report!. In addition, mothers who took iron supplements had double the normal risk of having a boy with hypospadias, and influenza during the first 3 months of pregnancy increased the risk of by Www@FoodAQ@Com

I will take the advice of the doctor who advises me who specialized in nutrition, graduated from Cornell University, Tufts University, and taught nutritional science at the university level, my dietitian, the American Heart Association which states "Many studies have shown that vegetarians seem to have a lower risk of obesity, coronary heart disease (which causes heart attack), high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus and some forms of cancer!.", the National Institutes of Health, the USDA, the American Dietetic Association, and countless other credible institutions and professionals-- even popular doctor Andrew Weil who graduated from Harvard University over the advice of a child who has not graduated high school, but only copies and pastes repeatedly from fringe anti-vegetarian propaganda groups like WestonPrice,
They even wrote the new US president a letter equating feeding soy to prisoners with torture and medical experimentation!. That is not a professional statement!. They promote raw milk which is dangerous for your health, and cod livers!. Many people have gotten ill from raw unpasteurized milk!. One of the founders is about the sickliest looking woman I have ever seen!. She admits that she is on the fringe when it comes to dietary advice!. And another member on the board who is their so-called soy expert--- got her degree from a distance learning college!. Every gullible person who tries to beat down vegetarianism has quoted that site!. Try asking real scientists at universities!. Until there is a degree on your wall signed by the head of a prestigious University, you have some nerve to advise on nutrition or matters of health by copying information from a junk website and pasting here because you don't like that someone doesn't eat the same way you do, thinking you know about all about nutritional science at 14 years old!. If there is anyone who is unqualified to give medical advice, it is a kid who copies and pastes information from a junk website!. It would be dangerous and foolish for anyone to follow your advice over the advice of a doctor who is educated in nutrition!. You know absolutely nothing about nutrition-- OR Weston A!. Price-- a dentist who died 60 years ago and didn't believe in root canal!. Read his actual writings, look at his actual findings with regard to vegetarianism from his observations from around the world, and not propaganda from an organization which took his name to use for their own!. Compare him to the creator of the word vegan who lived most of his life as a vegetarian or vegan and outlived Weston Price by about 17 years!. How about asking a doctor of oncology at a university if cooked red meat contains carcinogens , or if excessive calcium from drinking too much milk causes an increased risk of prostate cancer for males!. How about asking a doctor if excess protein from large amounts of meat could cause a loss of calcium!. Put down the junk information, and attend an actual university!. When you grow up and get your medical degree, , and are ready to be professional and objective, I will listen!. A diet which includes massive amounts of meat is not good for you,!. A diet which includes a reasonable amount of meat can be good for you, a vegetarian diet can be good for you, and a vegan diet can be good for you!. All three can also be bad for you if you do not pay attention to nutrition!., Go find out, even while most people are meat eaters, why they would need to fortify your food with supplements of vitamins and minerals also for the better part of the last century to prevent disease!. The bottom line is, pay attention to nutrition, eat right and take care of yourself to be healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sounds to me like you are brainwashed!. if you don't believe that a vegan diet will benefit you, then why are you asking this question!? sounds like your mind is made up! people follow this diet for several reasons!. do what makes you happy (and healthy)!. plenty of studies have suggested that consuming a vegetarian diet will prolong your life!. it's all about watching exactly what it is that you eat!. vegans lack adaquate amounts of calcium and vitamin d!. while vetetarians and vegans all need to be extremely careful in making sure that they are providing their bodies with sufficient amounts of vitamin b12, protein, iron, calcium & vitamin D (which lacto ovo vegetarians usually get enough of)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
well without reading your long agenda I just can tell you from my sisters experience she was vegetarian for 4-5 years then went vegan for a year like cold turkey straight vegan the thing with vegan is its expensive you gotta find protein big time in tofu and soy beans and soy nuts and soy milk cheese and pudding you gotta find B12 or your body will shed more hair break down and not fuction you need Iron from whole grains so you should pick up organic puffed wheat cereal or oats you need to eat alot of vegetables and fruits for vitamins and watch out every thing u eat every little thing may be okay but one word may stand for animal hair or a diary or something a vegan can't eat she went beck to a vegetarian because the freedom to have dairy and eggs if she chooses as a vegan your more restricted even gardenburger they have foods for one but not the other because it may have dairy in it or such so its a hard life style and food is so limited and taste you will have to grow to likeWww@FoodAQ@Com
