Question: I need some good vegan/vegetarian recipes for Christmas!?
I have also just been told I am wheat and dairy intolerant!!

I know!! It's AWFUL!!

I am so not looking forward to Christmas dinner this year!! What can I eat that is yummy and festive!.!.!.and won't make me desperately ill!?!?

Is your dairy intolerance due to lactose intolerance!? If so, you can still eat yogurt and yogurt-based dishes as the lactose has been converted to lactic acid in yogurt (hence the tartness)!. This means curries as these are yogurt-based!. also much Indian cuisine is vegetarian - so consider an Indian Xmas feast!. You can have dahl (lentils), Basmati rice (very fragrant), chole (garbanzos/aka chickpeas in spiced liquor), mustard greens (greens sauteed with oil and mustard seeds) and many others!. For dessert, gulab jamun (fried dough balls - you can find them canned) in rose water or mango lasse (yogurt blended with mango)!. Google Indian food recipes or e-mail me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Greek Christmas Cookies

Ingredients


* 2 cups olive oil
* 3/4 cup sugar
* 3/4 cup orange juice
* 1/4 cup brandy
* 7-8 cups sifted flour
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1 teaspoons soda

For the Syrup

* 2 cups honey
* 2 cups sugar
* 2 cups water
* 1 tbs grated orange rind (optional)

For the Topping

* 1 cup chopped walnuts
* 1 tbs cinnamon

Directions
1!. Beat together first 4 ingredients!.
2!. Sift flour, baking powder and soda together, several times to make sure they're mixed well!.
3!. Add the sifted dry ingredients to the oil mixture and knead gently until even texture is acheived!.
4!. Pinch off small portions of dough the size of an egg and form into little patties!. Roll them to make oblong rolls!.
5!. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake in moderate oven for 30 minutes!.
6!. Boil honey, sugar and water for 5 minutes!.
7!. Pour syrup over melomacarona!.
8!. Allow to soak for 15 minutes, take them out of the syrup and place on large plate!.
9!. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and cinnamon!. (tested: very, very good)

tofu with peanut sauce

slice tofu into 1 inch pieces!. fry until crispy on both sides
add tofu to peanut sauce and simmer for a few minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
