I don't mean to sound critical, but adopting a raw vegan diet just to lose weight probably will not work!.

That particular eating style takes a lot of research (in order to eat properly and remain healthy) and a lot of dedication!. Usually people are raw vegans for ethical, spiritual or environmental reasons!.

If you want to eat healthier in general, I would suggest being a vegetarian first!. You can always work your way up to being a raw vegan, but you have to start somewhere!. Once you've mastered a meat-free diet, then you can further eliminate processed foods and other animal products!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Becoming a raw vegan would detrimental!. It'll be an extremely hard diet to stick to, and you also have to be aware that a lot of foods are not easily digested if eaten raw!. For example, nuts and seeds that are lightly toasted are more easily digested and broken down by the body, therefore gaining the beneficial nutrients!. Cooking some vegetables will lessen the nutritional value, cooking others will enhance their nutritional value!. Do a lot of reading on the subject before doing anything drastic!. Since man learned to cook our life expectancy just keeps on getting longer - there's a reason!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Working out is the more important thing to do instead of taking such a drastic dietary change!. Eat a balanced diet with plenty of vegetables, low fat, avoiding sweats and soda and you will do fine!. Good diets with exercise will allow you to steadily and gradually lose the weight!. Fast weight loss is far to transitory as a permanent solution and you will constantly be seeing large fluctuation your weight!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Are you already working out!? You may not need to go so drastic on your change of food intake!. Start by being more active (don't start working out so much all at once-not good-ease into that) and change just a few known dietary problems!. You might be surprised!. :) I don't think you're VERY overweight as you put it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can lose weight on any balanced diet with exercise!. Being a vegetarian can help, but if your reasons for becoming a vegan purely to lose weight, then you are doing everything for the wrong reason!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
