You need meat if you believe you do?!

Question: You need meat if you believe you do!?
So apparently some people think if you think you need meat to live, you do actually need meat to live!. This seems strange because it doesn't seem like the universe runs on physics rather than what people believe!. For example, a schizophrenic person might believe he is being hunted down by the FBI, but that won't make it true!.

If you put someone who believes they need meat on an island with only fruits and vegetables would they then die!?
Does someone's belief that they need meat make it necessary for them to eat it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Vegetarians and vegans are proof enough that you DON'T need to eat meat to live!. =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think that if you believe in something enough, it will be true for you!.

For a common example, many drugs give people psychological addictions, not physical ones!. However, when these people are trying to give up the drugs, they still go through all the aweful withdrawal!.

also, people with hypocondria (sorry if I spelt that wrong) believe so strongly in their imagined illness that they feel all the symptoms and it is as if they are actually sick!.

I think that if someone truely believed that they could not survive with out meat then yes, they would die without it!. However, if you put someone on an island with no meat, I'm pretty sure that after a couple of days they would remember that there are a lot of people who survive their entire life without meat!.
It really depends on the type of person and they're upbringing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They would not die, but they would figure out how to use the fruits and vegetables to make a paste, which they would then rub on their elbows!.
As you know, when you apply a paste of fruits and vegetables to one's elbows, it changes the molecular structure of the atmosphere immediately surrounding the elbow!. This causes a wormhole to open!.
They may then use this wormhole to go to a place rich in meats!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Seems like you are over simplifying everything!. When people say they need meat, do they also say that that's all they need!? Do they say they are going to die without it!? How many people "need" their computers or their cars or their whatever but survive without it!? But using computers and using cars is part of what they see as a complete functioning life!. Without these gadgets, they see themselves as useless and helpless!. You have a very narrow minded interpretation and understanding of what is a human need!.

slightly confusing but i kind of get what you mean it is possible that you will become ill through what is in your mind, i see a lot of questions on here like " i've been vegetarian for an hour and my skin is peeling" (exaggeration but you know what i mean)!. If you are brought up believing that know one eats meat then you will probably not get ill from not eating it!.!.!.
Stress can cause physical illness because of the imbalance of chemicals in the brain overworking vital organs (this is why teachers die young) so if someone thinks they will become ill from not eating meat they will be stressed from not eating it and then will become physically ill!.!.!. not sure if that answer was at all related to your question! Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think they'd eat it but convince themselves that they were slowly dying from lack of meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with you in the general sense!. However that's just it!. Would someone survive on an island with fruits and veggies!.!.!.!. Yes! Would be be horribly malnourished and nutritionally deficient in a variety of ways and die eventually!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Yes! It is possible to maintain a well balanced diet as a vegan but very difficult and expensive!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
