Why isn't there gelatin in plain yogurt?!


Question: Why isn't there gelatin in plain yogurt!?
i have noticed that there is gelatin in the small yogurts!. but why not in the plain yogurt!?

also, what are good things to put in the plain yogurt!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

wow! yogurt is a main food in the mediteranean and middle east countries!.!.
we cook with yogurt many times in the week!.!.
I make fruit smoothies out of yogurt!.!. I use any kind of fruit I like, chop it up, toss in blender, add cup of yogurt, some honey, blend!.!. Walah!!.!.

also you can make your own fruit yogurt!.!. just use a couple heaped spoon fuls of jam/jelly/preserves and stir into the yogurt!.!.

I sometimes stir in nestles quick choco powder into yogurt, freeze it, and eat it like chocolate frozen yogurt!.!.

I also make a quick salad!.!. with a tiny amount of crushed garlic (1/4 tsp) 1/2 grated cucumber, some salt, lemon juice!.!. and eat!.!. mmm!

I make a dip out of it!.!. 2 cups of plain yogurt with 1 sachet of dried onion soup mix!.!. stir well and let sit 30min to soak up liquid!.!. then stir and use as dip for veggies or chips!.!.!.

you can also add a bit of low cal sweetner, or honey and a dash of vanilla!.!. stir well and use in place of whipped cream on top of cake or breakfast breads (sweet breads) Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gelatin is made from bone!. Really!. It's not vegetarian!.

And it's not added to plain yogurt, because then the yogurt wouldn't be "plain" (nothing added)!. They only add it to flavored yogurts to thicken them up and give it what they consider a "good mouth feel"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The gelatin (pectin) is added to the fruit in the other yogurts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
