If you find it, is it OK to use?!
Roadkill to make a fur coat!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Beavers have more sense C than to cross the road they stick to the water - but yeah I guess you take the roadkill home and do whatever you like with it - people do !Www@FoodAQ@Com
Technically, yes!. However, the pelt would turn out to cover only a very small surface area!. Therefore, you would have to use a number of pelts stitched together to equal enough surface area to make a coat!. Doing so could lead to the coat falling apart!. Perhaps a hat would be more suitable for such a concept (i!.e!. Danielle Boone)!. Another reason the pelt of roadkill would fall apart is because they have a thinner skin and less hair per square inch!. Essentially, the larger the animal the more suitable it could be to be used for such a purpose!.

From a vegan standpoint!? Absolutely not!. Its not just about you actively killing an animal, it's about respect for that animal!. It would be like eating a leftover chicken breast just because someone else wasn't going to eat it!.
Its about treating the animal with the same respect as we give humans!. It's not okay to make a blanket from the skin of a dead man even if he was dead when you found him!. It would be disrespectful to that man just as it would be disrespectful to the animal!.
Its also a slippery slope, to quote the scientists!. Once you start doing that, is it okay to buy a leather jacket if its from a thrift store!? Is it okay to eat meat at a relative's house because they cooked it for you and otherwise it would go to waste!? What about sale meats in the store!? No one's buying it and it will just go bad!. What about the scarf with rabbit fluff on it!? It's just a tiny part of the rabbit; i'm sure they didn't kill it just for that!.!.!.
If you start down the road of compromise, where would it end!?
Another issue is the image you give off to others!. If you are known to be vegan and others see you wearing leather or using animal products, how do you think you will be viewed by others!? What do you believe that person now thinks of the vegan community!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it got run over by a car I'm sure it will make a lovely coat, and you would need a lot of road kill to make a fur coat!. Vegans are even against using honey, so I'm sure most would feel very uncomfortable in a coat made of road kill!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No it isn't! If you want to do something useful move it to the side of the road and leave it for other animals and birds who are struggling to find food, this is the way of nature!. Wearing any sort of animals skins on your own back is disgusting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You got to think about what other people would think, as they would not know that it was road kill, when you see someone wearing fur you don't think it was roadkill do you!. Anyway why would you want to wear the skin of a dead animal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i suppose so!.!.!.
but i would NEVER WEAR A FUR COAT!!
i think if more and more people do this then they will just think its o!.k to get a fur coat that wasn;t road killed!.
if someone saw YOUR GORGE FUR COAT!.!.THEY MIGHT DECIDE TO BUY ONE FROM A SHOP!.!.!.WHICH WOULD BE CRUEL!.!.
once 1 person has one!.!.then they all want one!.!.
SO BETTER TO AVOID!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it is considered quite ethical as you did not kill it for this purpose!.
However the problem would be keeping the skins while you collect enough!.
You need an out house or shed to hang them and dry them!.
Good luck with that!Www@FoodAQ@Com

i suppose you didn't kill it for your wearing pleasure!. But still, the idea of a dead animal wrapped around me just gives me the creeps!. And it doesn't help with the anti-animal cruelty message i try to promote!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't see why not!. How would you take the fur off!? and would one animal be enough!? could you make a coat out of different animals!? say rabbit, rat and deer!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Not only to make fur coats but some people actually eat the meat too!.
But only because they need to!. Do you need a fur coat!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
