Day 8 of Vegan life....?!
I've lost 12 pounds in the last 7 days since I went Vegan!. Can anybody tell me if that's okay!? also I've been fairly obese for awhile, I don't know if that matters or not!. Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Since you are obese, if you are dieting, it's not uncommon to drop a significant amount of weight the first week!. Don't focus on the weight as much as making sure you're eating right!. Learn basic nutrition or consult a registered dietitian!. Write down what you eat and how much for a week, then take a good look at the calories you're eating, if you're eating a varied diet, if you're getting enough foods with the right nutrients-- protein, calcium, iron, etc!. Make sure you're either eating food fortified with vitamin B12, or supplementing with a very small amount of B12 daily!. Veganism can be very healthy, but extreme calorie reduction is not!. Good nutrition should be your goal, not weight loss!. If you're eating the right foods, and enough calories, your body is going to adjust!. Most importantly, seek out and take the advice of a professional over anything anyone in a yahoo forum says!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Sounds normal to me if you are obese, you will probably find that the amount you lose starts to slow down as you get smaller, so don't let it discourage you!
The only think I would say is that a vegan diet makes it difficult for you to get protein so make sure you have a lot of variety!. Tofu is a good source and is very low in fat!.

Nothing toi worry about!. It is not uncommon for rapid extreme weight loss to occur on a diet when you are obese!. Ever seen the biggest loser!? Some of those people drop 15-20 pounds the first week!

Totally normal!. Nothing to worry about!. Overweight people generally lose fat faster than a thinner person because of all the excess weight!. Your body is wasting no time at all getting rid of that unecessary load!. When you become thinner the weight loss will slow down!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I lost more than that in 7 days on the Atkins diet!. Not being rude, but did this diet give you excess flatulence!? Extreme diets do play havoc with your digestion!.!.the Atkins diet did give me bouts of constipation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I know someone who lost 7kg (about 16lbs) in 3 days on a raw fruit and veg diet!.

I think its normal!. Why question it I would be happy!. You are cutting out alot of things that contribute to being overweight, hence the weightloss!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
