Well now, should we face some facts here concerning meat ?!

Question: Well now, should we face some facts here concerning meat !?
Hi Omniveres, Vegetarians, etc,

I ponder as to how many of us adore a good roast bit of animal, and how many go "yuck" & eat beans, leaves, & pulses!.

Happy Cristmas with carving a roast spud as opposed to a quail or two!.

We are natural omnivores, for "that blokes name that starts with a J" is his birthday, and apart from the bread & wine, in the writings, he was rather fond of goat meat!.

Those incisors are for biting off lumps of meat!.

I have a good seik freind, who explained to me that we should not change the way that God created us!.

Er, spinach, anyone !?

I agree we are omnivores by nature!. The teeth are good evidence to that fact but you really set your self up as a "straw man" for the militant vegans out there when you spout incorrect references!. The Incisors are literally cutting teeth common to herbivores!. Grazers use them to crop grass for example!. The Molars are for grinding hard and/or fibrous material like seeds, nuts, and grass!. The teeth you should have pointed out were the Cuspids (and Bicuspids)!. They are pointed teeth that are use for the tearing of meat!. They are all but useless to an herbivore as they are not useful in the cut/grind/swallow process!. They are however suited to the tear/swallow process of carnivores!. We have the tools of both so we are designed (whether by deity or evolution) to consume and digest both!. As we are civilized, we manipulate our environment and choose what to eat and why!. It does not make us better than vegans that we embrace the full spectrum diet!. They in turn are no better than us for choosing an exclusive diet!. Try to understand the complex interaction and the myriad views that make up the world we live and the species we are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do you honestly think that comments like this are going to change the mind of any vegetarians!? Whatever you can come up with, I guarantee you we've heard it before, including the Jesus bit!. Hey, he also wasn't married, does that mean that I should never get married!? And as far as I'm concerned, if God created me, he created me with the morality and compassion to decide to not eat meat!.

also, just a hint, blatant misspellings make anything you say less credible!. (it's "Christmas" and "Sikh")Www@FoodAQ@Com

The facts are that we each of us have free choice as to whether we eat flesh or not!.Civilisation has moved on from men hunting animals for food and clothing!.We now have alternatives for both and there is no need to use animals any more!.
I bet I enjoy my Christmas dinner more than you do, I'll be having roast mushrooms, roast potatoes, roast parsnip/onion/tomato, yorkshire pud and veggie gravy!.
No animal, bird, or fish, will have died for my dinner!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Great, but I'm not a cave man!. I don't need to go hit my food over the head with a club and roast great big hunks of meat over a roaring fire anymore!. My life is much more convenient then those of people 2000-14000 years ago (It doesn't matter)!. So I can have whatever diet I want!. also, why would it matter what Jesus ate!. It doesn't make me any less of a person for choosing not to!. =)

Yeah Happy Holidays XDWww@FoodAQ@Com

Not everyone is Christian here and believes in 'God'!.
Not everyone here enjoys the idea or taste of meat!.
Are you trying to impose your beliefs onto others!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I came to see some facts!. I am disappointed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

OK, but erm, where are the facts you promised us!?

Where is the evidence we are natural omnivores!? This is an assumption, and there is contradictory evidence to indicate both sides of the arguement!. The truth is no one is actually sure!.

As for our 'incisors'- when was the last time you were able to bite off lumps of raw meat with those measely things!? Thing is, you wouldnt know as we don't eat raw meat!. In fact, if we do it makes us sick!. So if we are such natural and fantastic meat eaters, why is it we have to cook it first and remove any bacteria and nutrients it contains anyway!?

And don't come on here spouting references to god, not everyone believes in god so stop trying to impose your beliefs!.

Personally, Id rather have spinach over a rotting corpse anyday thanks very much!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Firstly, you stated that humans are natural omnivores!. Do you have any evidence that supports this assumption!? You are incorrect in stating this!. I have collected some info that you may find beneficial towards your question!.!.!.

“Although we think we are one, and we act as if we are one, human beings are not natural carnivores!. When we kill animals to eat them, they end up killing us because their flesh, which contains cholesterol and saturated fat, was never intended for human beings, who are natural herbivores!.” - William C!. Roberts, M!.D!., editor, American Journal of Cardiology!.

And secondly, how do you even know that there ever was a god!? Do you have any evidence of this!? Where is your proof that verifies God created human life!? Religion has nothing to do with the way humans have evolved and I find it quite silly that you would involve religion into your question!.

You need to get your facts straight!.

And yes, I'd prefer spinach over a corpse any day!. Meat is dead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a meat eater!.
However, since I read in the vegetarian section ( I have friends who are vegetarians and I am always looking for tasty meals) I increasingly ask myself if there is a connection between meat eating and just plain arrogant stupidity!. I have never come across so childish behaviour, misconceptions, wrong facts and to top it all the inability to spell one sentence right as in here , displayed by carnivores!.

I never got and will get one with a vegetarian who looks down on meat eaters!.!.but I rather share a year on an island with that person !.!.!.!.at least she/he was intelligent and brave enough to make a decision based on beliefs and facts!. Meat eaters who still claim that we have to eat meat to survive are either too stupid to read or just don't have the mental capacity to understand whats written there!.

Shame on youWww@FoodAQ@Com

Honestly, who do you think you are!?

You have no right to tell people how they should live their lives!.

I am in no ways saying that you shouldn't eat meat!.

And I am in no ways saying that you should eat meant!.

Hell, I'm only semi-vegetarian, I still eat white meat, just not red meat!.

And what does religion have to do with any of this!? How do you know there is a "god"!? What proof is there!? Any religion, in my belief, is just a bunch of faulty assumptions put together to give one's self a false sense of security!. But, I'm not going to sit here and say you're wrong!. I don't care what you believe!. You have the right to think whatever you want!. I'm better than downgrading someone because of who they are and what they believe!.

Besides, many studies have shown that all kinds of vegetarians have a lower risk of obesity, coronary heart disease (which causes heart attack), high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus and some forms of cancer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I tried the vegetarian option once, it was delicious, but prefer a good roast bird or joint and all the trimmings!.
Only good red meat gives us all the amino acids we need and the results are less 'windy'!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Phew! For a moment I thought you were going to have a go at meat-eaters, and it's a relief to not be told yet again we are wrong!.
While I love vegetables, I also love meat too!.
Happy Christmas!Www@FoodAQ@Com

badger baiting is illegal in the uk
vegetarian baiting should be made illegal too!.
fat, juicy steak for me tonight!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hmmm!.!.!.!.!. interesting!.!.!.!. ^_^Www@FoodAQ@Com
