recommended by doctor to increase fibre content of diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Don't use bran it is a very poor source of fibre and blocks the absorption of nutrients - doctors these days know little about bowels and keeping them working which is why so many people get diagnosed with IBS!. Psyllium husk is far superior and you can buy it from Holland & Barrett in the form of Lepicol which has the added advantage of contaning pro and prebiotics in addition to the fibre!. Take it twice a day for the first two weeks then reduce to once a day!. You'll then have much happier and healthier bowels!. Oh, and make sure you drink two litres of water per day - its the combination of water and fibre that makes the difference!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd recommend Flaxseed meal!. It has a lot more fiber then wheat bran!. If you want to use wheat brain just buy it in bulk and put it through your food processor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
