Hi!.!.
Having been vegetarian for a few years now I have found that the best things to eat so that you still get a decent amount of protein and nutrients would be the following:
tofu, seitan, all beans, peas (high in protein), nuts, seeds, TVP (texture vegetable protein) found at whole foods and other health food stores, nutrictional yeast, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and well you really don't need to worry alot about protein too much!. Unless you're highly active or workout alot!. You can get soy protein powder if that's the case!. But the average girl needs only approx 30 to 40 grams of protein a day, which is easy to maintain!.
Seafood was the last thing I gave up!. But I feel much healthier and much better shape being that I stopped eating meat and other animal by products!. I have cheese every once in while but even that is rare!.
Best of luck to you!
Feel free to email me if want to know more!.

Look up recipes if need more ideas!. You can find alot on vegweb!.com and many others!.

Im a vegetarian so this information is quite valid! Protein you can find in nuts, eggs, cheese!. Eat these every day and you will be fine!. I am assuming you are female from your picture, so you will need to also worry about your iron intake!. You can find iron in vegemite and spinach, but you have to consume a hell of a lot of that to get the right amount!. You will have to substitute with iron pills or you can get iron in liquid form and just take 15mLs per day!. Not very hard!. Fish is an animal too, it had a heart beat, and if you don't eat fish you aren't really missing out on anything!. And yes, fish is a big no no!.
Hope this helped, and good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here's some info from online!. Some of the info is vegan!. Obviously, you'd just add in eggs and milk products if you wanted to go ovo or lacto vegetarian!. It's not tough to get protein at all!. Just make sure you include foods with protein at every meal!. If you're going very strict vegetarian or vegan, include vitamin B12 in your diet!.

I've been vegetarian or vegan most of my life, and I'm in excellent health!. Never had any problems!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

People who eat fish, but not meat are pescatarians!. http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Pescetarian!.!.!.

Proteins for vegetarians are tofu, tempeh, seitan, eggs, dairy (or soy dairy) products, and the commercial meat replacements!.

There are brands like morning star, boca and quorn that make meat-like substitutes that look and taste like burgers, chicken nuggets, sausages, hot dogs, etc!. I prefer morning star and quorn!.

I have over 300 vegetarian recipes on my website
http://mikoskitchen!.blogspot!.com/search/!.!.!.

Basically, for any recipe that calls for ground meat just use veggie crumbles from the freezer section, in stir fry use tofu cubes, for chicken just use some breaded chik'n patties or nuggets from the freezer section, that's really the easiest way to get started!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For protein we eat: beans, peas, nuts, seeds, and whole grains!. Lacto ovo vegetarians eat eggs and dairy too!. Fish are animals so they are off limits!.

dont worry too much about getting enough protien!.

im doing a research project on vegetarianism and i found out that cornivours get too much protien(which is bad)!.
and vegetarians get the right amount :)

but im not too sure about that!.!.!.
so i eat a lot of eggs, cheese, peanut butter, soy milk (chocolate of course :]) and some tofu!.

not enough protien just makes your musles not grow as much, and deteriorate over time!.
but i am a rower on my schools crew team, which you need a LOT of musle for, and like half the team are vegatarians!. and we basically have more muscle then anyone on the team : ]
hahaha

hope it helps :]Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would suggest reading "Becoming Vegetarian" by Brenda Davis!. If you eat enough food, you should be getting enough protein!.

Fish are animals, so if you eat them you are not a vegetarian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Soybeans contain twice the amount of protein that meat has!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

DON'T EAT TOFU!!!!! it tastes so gross!. theres a lot of things you can eat, like:

peanut products, dairy, and veggies :)

i also used to take pills that are made for vegetarians!. they have iron in them, so you can still get your daily iron :DWww@FoodAQ@Com
