I am Catholic, pro-life, and proud of it!. Today is a day of fast and abstinence from eating meat (Ember Wednesday) but let me tell you I love a good char-broiled New York Strip Steak!.
So they might give tours at slaughter houses, or you can watch how gruesome these kosher butcheries are on YouTube, but you don't have the same opportunity to view what goes on in abortion clinics!. (As a matter of fact I know many people who have been arrested and have served jail time just for praying outside an abortuary!.) And if the child happens to be born alive what do you think they do at the abortion clinic!? They leave the child to die on the cold stainless steel surface!.
Doesn't make any sense does it!? In fact animals, in some instances, have more rights than people do!.
The CDC lists pregnancy as a disease!
The world has gone insane!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Abortion is a choice for only one person to make: the woman who decides whether or not to continue her pregnancy!.

Meat production inflicts unnecessary suffering on millions of animals that already exist as independent sentient beings, for the luxury and pleasure of eating them!.

If you are troubled by abortion, then one of the most effective ways to reduce the number that take place, is to encourage the use of birth control, and comprehensive sex education in schools!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I am pro-choice, and my sense of empathy leads me to be pro-choice!. Many years ago, I was undecided about the abortion issue!. I then saw a documentary that showed an Ethiopian woman dying in a hospital after her uterus was punctured in an illegal abortion procedure!. Yes, abortion is a sad, sad reality, and you can illegalize it all you want to, but the fact of the matter is that illegalizing it will NOT make it go away!. Instead, desperate women and girls will seek abortions in unsafe, unsanitary settings, and in many of these cases, not only do the fetuses die, but so do the mothers!. If we can't save the fetuses, we can at least save the mothers!

And regarding the meat issue, I am against the killing of animals for food except in the most dire circumstances, because in this day and age, it is unnecessary for us to eat meat!. Not only that, but we would actually all probably be healthier if we went vegetarian or vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am pro-choice because I believe that life is complicated and people have to have choices!.

My main issue with the killing of the animals for food is the way in which the animals are treated and how they are killed!. It is unnecessarily cruel!. If every animal used for meat were given a swift and easy death, I would not have such a huge problem with it!. Though I still would personally not want to eat meat!.

So, yeah!. I'm pro-choice!. I'm, uh, pro-happiness, lol!. I don't think women should be deprived of their right to a choice and I don't think animals should be deprived of their right to a good life!. That's all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just a thought for RoboMonk, who said:
"Many non-human animals are much more intelligent and aware of their environment than a fetus, so why should they not have more rights!?"

The reason I don't see these animals as having more rights than a fetus is because these animals have reached their maximum capacity!. If you let them grow older, experience more, live their lives out as long as they want, they won't get any smarter!. They won't become more aware of life!. They won't begin to philosophize or write or ponder or build or anything!. They will do the same thing they've done their entire lives!. They'll eat, then poo!.
They have nothing left to experience!. The only reason we as humans want to live our lives as long as possible is because there is always a new horizon, always another experience!. There will always be the days that could have been!. Murdering is essentially robbing a person of all the experiences they could have had!. Killing an animal for food is just speeding up the inevitable, because they have nothing better to hope for in their lives!.

That said, I am still pro-choice!. I don't like the idea of abortion myself, but sometimes it is in the mother's best interest, and the child's best interest!.
But there is no way that we can justify abortion on the grounds of current intelligence or awareness level!. If we say that because more basic adult animals are smarter than a fetus, that means that they have more of a right to life than this infant, then there is no way that the human race could continue to exist!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being pro-choice and vegetarian are two very different issues!. This question is asked a lot to vegetarian, as if the two go hand in hand, but the reasons for people's choices are as varied as the individual!.

I am vegetarian and totally pro-choice!. I have certain reason for being pro-choice, the same as those who are pro-life!.

I believe that there are already plenty of unwanted children in this world!. Who would pro life legislation effect!? Not the rich or middle class, but the poor, young, etc!.

What would happen to all these children!? Think about all the abortions that are performed every year, all these abortions would be children!. I believe there would be an increase in child abuse, possibly the reintroduction of orphanages!. I think it is tragic enough that many children grow up in foster homes without parents, and eventually end up aging out of the system!. In a way I think pro-choice is pro-life, I am for the children already born into this world that live without the security and love of a family!. We need to fix these problems first!.

Just b/c someone is pro-choice does not mean they are not compassionate to their fellow human being, the same as pro-life individuals are not automatically compassionate to the needs of others!. How many people that are pro-life have adopted African American babies, sick, drug addicted babies, mentally/physically handicapped, or any children at all!? Not many, I also find it interesting that people in America will go all the way to China to adopt a healthy white baby instead of adopting an African American baby in the United States!.

I can't think of anything worse than a child coming into this world unwanted by their parents, and even though there are some parents that would love and care for the child after they gave birth, there are many more that would resent and most likely abuse and neglect the child!.

We are talking about poor, young mothers that are left to raise these children alone!. 52% of women obtaining abortions in the U!.S!. are younger than 25(and this is an older stat!., it probably higher by now!.) Who pays for these children, not a struggling unwed mother!. In 2002, 1!.29 million abortions took place !. Image these all as children, what would happen to them!?

also not all people who receive abortions were irresponsible when they had sex, Fifty-four percent of women having abortions used a contraceptive method during the month they became pregnant!. Among those women, 76% of pill users and 49% of condom users reported using their method inconsistently, while 13% of pill users and 14% of condom users reported correct use!. Contraceptives are not a fail safe!. All is well and good to say you wouldn't abort a fetus if you are well established(monetary, economically, career, husband/wife) when/if your contraceptive method fails, but it is much harder to do if you are low income, young and uneducated!.

It is easy to say abortions should not happen, but think of it in terms of children that would actually be in this world!. My compassion is for the children that are already here, and while I do not advocate abortion(or would ever choose the option myself), I just don't think someone should be forced to have a child!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians and vegans are as diverse in the views and politics as meat-eaters are, and will have as diverse a range of views on this issue as any other grouping, such as meat-eaters!.

I'm vegan and I value human life way, way over animal life!. I'm a lifelong political activist, fighting for human rather than animal rights!.

One of the rights I've fought for for years is a woman's right to choose!. I am 100% pro-choice, whatever the circumstances of conception!.

I'm pro-choice because I value life - the lives of the thousands of women who would die without legal abortion, and the lives of the countless numbers of women who die when they cannot obtain abortions!.

In countries where abortion is illegal, women have abortions anyway - dangerous, life threatening and sometimes fatal abortions!. This used to happen in countries where abortion is legal, and still does where it is legal but in reality hard to get!.

For me it's a class issue too!. It is women without the money to buy safe abortions - something wealthy women have always been able to do, legal abortion or no - who died and continue to die!. I care about their lives so I'm pro-choice!.

I'm old enough to remember the time before abortion was legal in my country - I don't know if you are!. !. and I remember the whispers about a friend's teenage cousin who died following a botched illegal abortion, and friends par-boiling themselves in hot baths because they feared they were pregnant!.

Stories of knitting needles, coat hangers, and other implements being used by desperate women to self-abort are not just horror stories, they are true

I am strongly in favour of women being in control of their own lives and destinies, and part of this is control over their own fertility!. Yes, prevention is better, and education about safe and effective contraception would prevent the need for some abortions!. But with the best will in the world contraception sometimes fails!. It is ludicrous to talk, as some people do, of women using abortion as contraception - abortion is a hideous experience!.

I'm vegan because I choose to minimise my contribution to animal suffering!. I'm pro-choice because I value the lives of women and their right to choose!. I don't think the two have anything to do with each other, except that I think in both cases my views are the humane, compassionate ones!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"In fact animals, in some instances, have more rights than people do!."

First of all, humans are animals!. Second of all, why should non-human animals not have more rights than a fetus, which is not even aware of its environment!? To assign rights based on species membership is equally as arbitrary as assigning rights based on race!. Many non-human animals are much more intelligent and aware of their environment than a fetus, so why should they not have more rights!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

!.!.no ugly comments!.!.

Yeah, people ever told me this before!. But after i personally visited a slaughterhouse (with my family took a tour to the nearby zoo & slaughterhouse) we don't really pleasant to see those poor animals again!. Today we are not curious being vegans!. I don't consume things that i'm not dare to watch or do by myself!.!.simple is that!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am pro-choice, concerning other women!. As for myself!. I would never do such a thing as terminate even the smallest fraction of a baby growing inside of me!. I think that every individual has the choice to do whatever they feel is right!. Just as I don't pressure people into what to eat, I don't decide what other people do with their bodies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a pro choice vegan!.

It is an integral part of my faith to not take from another for my own sustenance!.

It is also a part of my faith that everybody chooses their own path and that it is neither my place nor right to impose my beliefs upon them!.

For those reasons I am a pro choice vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm pro choice!. I believe that a pregnant woman/child/teen should have the right to their own decision, as I do with people who eat meat!. I would never discourage or be disrespectful to a meat eater as we are ALL entitled to our own opinion and choices!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

im a vegetarian of 8 years for animal reason!. if you mean pro choice by supporting abortion then nope im against abortion killing an innocent baby!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Haha!. I've been saying this for years!. You're against killing a defensless animal but it's ok to yank a baby from its mother's womb!. Hypocritical!? I think so!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do not understand how ethical vegetarians can separate the two!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some are and some aren't!. The 2 matters are not related!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nope, I am pro-life! :) Why would I not believe in killing animals and then believe it is ok to kill a human being!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. Not pro-choice!. Not pro-meat!. It's all awful!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Life begins at conception, a scientific fact, no debate needed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Both are forms of killing for convenience!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

pro life!. i could never be pro abortion!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes im vegan and pro-choiceWww@FoodAQ@Com

yes!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I dislike people!. Pro-choice is good, it helps a lot of things!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
