Sorry about all the question marks, I had to use at least 20 characters!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
synthetic polar fleece is vegan!. sheep fleece is not!.

(Most vegans do not use wool!. Many people assume that the animals aren't killed, which may be true at the time of shearing, but the industry does involve killing the animals-- when they are culled for having less desirable wool, when their production declines, and some are mutilated in a process called mulesing to prevent flystrike!. The males are also castrated with a knife!. However, regardless of those things, a vegan likely would not believe in exploiting the animal for wool production anyway!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you are talking about the fleece from sheep, no it is not vegan!.
Vegan is about not exploiting other living creatures, and, if one follows that concept, we would be raising the sheep only to get their hair, so the intent is wrong, and intent is all!.

If you are talking about "polar fleece", that is a polyester product, and you are only being non-green by depending on the production of petroleum!.

If you are talking about the fleece you would put in a quilt, that would depend on what fleece you are using - is it "wool" or "polyester" fleece!? If it is *wool*, then it is non-vegan!. If it is *polyester*, it is vegan, just non-green!.

The concept in veganism, again, is non-exploitation of other living beings!. Strict vegans do not wear leather shoes, or wool garments!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Synthetic fleece is a byproduct of dinosaurs, but they died a long time ago so it's vegan, its 100% polyester!.

Oviously fleece from wool isn't vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

At times, the fleece is sold with the skin attached to keep it together!. That is _certainly_ not vegan!. If it's just the wool, though, that doesn't harm the sheep unless the shearer gets sloppy and nicks them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Since you don't kill the sheep I would think so, but you never know some people just object to using animals for any reason!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Only if you're eating it!. It's plastic, derived from petroleum by products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
