I have a moral dilemma...?!
I am a vegan and as such no animal product at all!.
I've just enrolled at school for next year and part of the uniform in big bold letters is leather shoes!.
The students were all wearing leather and the principal told me they had to be leather as well!.
I'm here on a probational period where if I stuff up (am late for school, don't keep a B grade average) I'm out!.
So, should I just wear the leather shoes and feel like a monster every morning, OR should I buy Pleather (fake leather, plastic leather) shoes and see how it goes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

try Pleather and see how it goes!. If administration has a problem with it explain yourself to them!. If they accept it - great!. If not, you'll have to compromise and wear the leather shoes!.

I don't think people are going to walk around staring closely at your shoes!.!. you should be alright!.

I would consider talking to the school director/board!. Explain your dilemma and ask for the catalog!. It's possible (likely, even) that they require leather to ensure that students are wearing "nice" shoes!. (Not sneakers or sandals, etc!.)
If you can find non-leather nice black shoes, you can probably make a case for yourself!.
I suggest bringing this up before you go to school, etc, rather than waiting until after!.
If it turns out that you simply MUST wear leather shoes, take the time to find a gently used pair so you aren't supporting the industry financially!.

Buy fake leather shoes, no one will know the difference!. Im sure the purpose of the hilighted fact was to indicate the issue of smart shoes and no sneakers etc!.
You can not be discriminated against in such a way that they could force you to wear leather outside of your principles!.

I would buy the nicest looking genuine synthetic shoes I could find!. Those shoes you found appear to be synthetic!. If you look at vegan shops online, you'll also find some convincing fakes!. Maybe there's a loophole if you can find a dictionary definition of leather like this one from dictionary!.com 4!. pertaining to, made of, or resembling leather

If it's a private school then they make the rules and can make you do whatever they want!. That pleather stuff looks trashy and it's always obvious when someone isn't wearing actual leather!. Do you actually want to chance getting in trouble and thrown out over this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
I would rock the pleather and see if your principal or anyone else notices it!. You do what you can, and if you have no other choice, then what else can you do!. Just ask the principal if you could opt for pleather instead!. I'm sure they are willing to accommodate just a little!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
try bringing this to the attention of your parents, someone higher than the principal like employees of the county that the school is in which could probably be reached in the blue pages of the phone book!.

I'd try buying good looking non leather shoes and seeing if they do!. If they don't you're all good!. If someone notices you could look at a used store for shoes - that way you're reusing and more ethical!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
