Question: Is there a good replacement for miso!?

I'm making a recipe for dinner that calls for miso, but I don't have any, and I really don't feel like going out and buying some!. Is there any (relatively common) ingredient that I could use instead that would give a similar taste!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree, there is no substitute but in a jif, you can try anchovy paste which obviously not everyone has in their larder!.
