Can being a vegetarian cause low blood sugar?!

Question: Can being a vegetarian cause low blood sugar!?
I've been a vegetarian for 6 months now, and I was wondering if being a vegetarian can make your blood sugar lower!. My mom thinks so!. She was a vegetarian for 7 years, and she had low blood sugar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No!. It would rely more on what you eat than the subgroup of your diet!. Any diet designation can be an underlying cause!.

Your Mom is using flawed logic!. It's like saying she's a swimmer and became pregnant, so swimming causes pregnancy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

God NO !!! where are these questions coming from !? I have seen quite a few "If i am vegetarian, does it mean i will get iron deficiency" etc

please people, remember there is NOTHING in meat that cannot be obtained from following a good balanced healthy vegetarian diet !!!

everything that your body gets by eating meat - ccan be very very easily replaced by eating suitable

I have been vegetarian most of my life - except about 3 years in my teens when I ate meat - but I have always had low blood pressure and eating meat did not improve / worsen it

so answer to your quesiton is NO!.

what you need to do is ensure that being a vegetarian you are eating a well balanced diet that is giving you your daily recommended allowance of all the carbs, vitamins, fats, sugars etc that you need!.

wether you are a vegetarian or not, low blood sugar can sometimes be indicative of a type of diabetes and as your mum has it too - it sounds more hereditery than anything else

so please remove these myths from your mind, see doc about your blood sugar and do your research about a good veg diet !!

Hey,
Many people believe that a vegetarian diet can't satisfy our dietary requirements!. This isn't true! i'm a veggie and I'm perfectly healthy! (Except when I binge on tacos ^^)!. If you believe you have low blood sugar, check with a doctor if you are really concerned!. But no, vegeatarians do not have low blood sugar!.

Hope that helps!

With a balanced, healthy vegetarian diet, no!. Be sure to avoid a lot of sugars and simple carbs!. Those aren't healthy for anyone!.

I have been a healthy vegetarian for 17 years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It als causes intense starvation malnutrition and it brings a sense of dark depression that gnaws at you until you eat a tender juicy lucscious succulent mouthwatering, thick Filet Mignon pan seared and cooked to perfection!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Goodness, no! Vegetarians can fill up on dairy products if they chose to!. Being vegetarian doesn't limit one's intake of sugar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

SUGAR WILL be low if only if you have taken in less in your diet but most foods will have enough sugar to prevent blood sugarWww@FoodAQ@Com

yes it can without supplements and pills, But that is not all it can hurt, no meat mean know iron witch you need, and well research more till you make the decision!. If you doing it because you don't like the thought of killing animals then i will tell you a great thing!. I am a teenager, I grew up on a farm, I watched tons of animals be slauttered, some of my very own that i rasied from a baby!. Would I take it back for the animals, NO!. they don't even know what happened, and i eat the meat from my hogs, and i run, and I am in excellent shape!. So just think about that before you make the decision, its your life, live it the way you want!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
